Didn't think this was possible anymore.

It must be some sort of mistake? If not, thank you Alamy. This, even if rare, is what separates you from everyone else
What is the image that sold for almost 2 grand? Nothing special - Iron Mountain trailhead in Poway, California

Took it for personal hiking website & since it turned out well, uploaded for stock. It is quite sound technically (Canon EOS 6D, 24-105L lens at 24mm, F8 1/125 exposure). Now looking at page I did for the hike https://autumnsky.zenfolio.com/usa/san-diego/iron-mountain (https://autumnsky.zenfolio.com/usa/san-diego/iron-mountain), pic is not even included as I thought others were better.
Will probably wake up tomorrow and see it gone. But it feels good now

Wow great sale, congrats! Enjoy :)

Let the good times roll...
-
Wow. Congrats on your sale!
-
Congratulations! That's awesome!
Fingers crossed that the customer doesn't request a refund in 5 months. That's always my greatest worry with bigger Alamy sales, especially when you already had payout and spent the money.

Congratulations!

Very nice!

congratulations. that's Alamy for you, every time you want to dump them you see a report like this
hope it sticks

one thing, the image is special in being one of only 6 in the whole databank, and clearly the better one.
also so much for the Alamy purist that having your image across various Stock telling you that client will go search it also on SS and go and buy it for 10 cents (sic!) there.

No sorry, this is not possible. You'll have to transfer the money to me. ;D
-
Congratulations! I wonder where the image will show up eventually

Thank you. Thought has crossed my mind & even if not pessimist by nature I am inclined to think this will not stick. 4 digit figure for single frame on 20.2 megapixel sensor won't yield large print. We shall see. Will post an update here

Alamy purism is very interesting discussion debated many times & there are arguments both ways ("is it better to sell image 1 time for 100$ or 100 times for 1$" ?). Couple of yrs ago Alamy customer inquired about an image they wanted for book cover. They were willing to pay $999, but were interested to know if image was available elsewhere. I replied honestly and did not get a sale.
Over the last yr I shifted my overall strategy and am uploading what I consider better shots to Alamy and AS only. That "book cover prospect" image would today be uploaded to Alamy only. But everyone must find what works best for them & it is at least to a degree related to type of work they do

Interesting you mention AS for your best shots. I only got an EL at Adobe when I pursued it myself (because some commercial company bought at low rates and I discovered my photos in their commercial website). And an EL gives you only so much money at Adobe. Why choose them while on SS or IS or Alamy (apparently) you could get so much more?

Good question. AS gives me consistent RPD over 1 and EL's most every month. But large part for me is respecting the work On IS 15% or fraction of a penny just doesn't feel right when you know you have good shot & invest almost an hour post-processing in Photoshop every detail. Similar with SS not even because of 10 cents, but because of AI rejections of perfectly well exposed and technically sound images which made me stop uploading there completely.
Again everyone must find what works best for them and this is not related just to $$ amount.
