Title: Licenced images at Alamy as RF at microworld.

Hi all.

I have a group of images at Alamy set as licenced and Iīm thinking they could get good sales in micro. Could be any problem with the different kind of licensing? I didnīt use the rights protected licence so teorically there are no problems with exclusivity.

What do you think about this? Thanks!

If you want some fun, ask this question in the alamy forum :)

Are they RM on alamy or RF?  You shouldn't sell RM as RF on microstock sites.  What would be the point of RM if you sold them as RF?  There would be no record of their use if someone requested it.

I keep my alamy photos separate from the micros.  Why would people use alamy if it fills up with images that are also on the microstock sites?

If they set a as licensed than they are RM even Alamy with the most-open-policy and the fairest photographer-friendly attitude of all agencies i know bans you if you are going to sell the same pictures as RF.
If you don't understand the difference between RM and RF - google it! It's the first thing you have to learn before you start doing stock!
Alamy has no policy against selling the same pictures under the same licensing terms at other agencies. So in theory you could even sell Alamy-RF at the micros but you burn in hell if you do  :D;D

No you CANNOT sell an image as both Rf and RM. RM means that you know how when and where the image was used. You know nothing about the sale if it is RF.

And there is the possibility of big and expensive legal trouble for you, personally, if some company pays a hefty sum for the rights to one of your licensed images from Alamy and then finds every Tom, Dick and Harry using it Royalty Free.

Doubtful, as RM is only (depending on the license terms) an agreement to use an image in a certain way for a certain amount of time.  There is no guarantee that every Tom, Dick and Harry will not be using it, unless that is something the seller offers with the RM agreement, like the LRP at Alamy:
