So, I just checked my Alamy stats... first image sold (yay!) at $120 (2xyay!)

Only the sale was refunded... at $152. So now my Alamy account is minus $32.

Suddenly iStock and Fotolia dont seem that bad.

I have just sent an email to Alamy support, but I am wondering if anyone else has had this kind of "earnings" from Alamy?

Surely! Hopefully!
Please post back when they get back to you.

I've had refunds there - they always square it off exactly. This must be an error, or maybe the refund is for something different than the sale you are looking at. Check the file codes against each other.

YIKES!

Just can't wait to see what happened.

I did have a sale refunded and then the person bought the same image at a different lower price. Hoping the sale just hasn't cleared yet. Otherwise, you are setting a record for negative commissions.

I wrote Alamy support, but have yet to get a reply. But today I cheched my stats, and it looks like attached image.

So now I am on the plus side with $72 commission (of a $120 sale) on an image sold with dimensions 1378x918 pixels. This I like. A lot. Unless something changes unfavourably again.

Alamy is a quirky site but like others have said they make it right in the end.  Sales are spotty at best but I make $2500 to $3000 a year there, so that in and of itself makes it worth uploading there.  They are not totally like Fotolia or Istock but they have cut commissions in the past.  It's now 60% for contributor instead of 65%.  I can envision another cut coming down the pipeline soon.  The commission cut was because "we are expanding operations in the U.S." but they can spin it anyway they want.  However, 60% of $300 is better than 60% of $3 in my book.

That looks more like it. I had an image sell, then it was refunded and then sold the next day, smaller size for less, to the same buyer. Reporting looks identical to yours.

I never asked. Just figured the buyer claimed one size/rate and then used a different one in their publication.

At least the sale is still a sale. :)
