I just had a RF image sell on Alamy for $250+, which is my biggest sale to date.  Of course, with the Alamy payout system, it will be some time next year before I actually get it, but it's money in the bank.   8)

I got one for 425$ and as I'm new to Alamy I thought it was all my commission.  Turns out I will only get 40% of it as it is a partner sale.  Still nice but a bit dissapointing.

Which is the first month after the money actually IN your account reaches $150, not just when you have $150 of sales. Like the OP said, could be months. Or could be this month if they pay quickly.

Its 175 dollar. If he gets a 60% cut he has 150 dollar, so he wont get paid, but he says the sale was 250+. Ok, lets put it differently, if he made 175 dollar or more out of the sale, he gets paid on the 1st of October. RF sales are handled differently. Sale is a sale. He can check is account balance and then he knows.

It's dissapointing when you think that you have got 425$ but wouldn't mind a few more of them. :)

Cherish the $400+ sale at Alamy as they became very scarce the last couple of years! I assume it was RF.

Yes RF on an image that they could buy at any of the other sites that I sell on.  So they are going to be few and far between then!!  Shame!!

Sorry, $175, (it used to be $250).
He will, as he knows, only get the money on 1st October, if the buyer has actually paid for it by then. The one big sale I had (direct, not distributor) was paid for immediately, but sometimes it takes more than six months, especially with distributor sales, as the buyer may have some (negotiated) leeway to pay, then the distributors have time to settle with Alamy.

Don't count those chickens yet - a sale on Alamy isn't really a sale for at least a month, during which time the customer can decide to take a refund, and you get nothing.  It happens not infrequently.

Especially when I could have gotten 33 cents on SS instead?  ::) Yeah, that's a real downer.

I was delighted with the sale but at the time hadn't worked out how the system worked so thought that 425$ was my commission.  Obviously it is a great sale but I didn't expect to have over 250$ taken in commissions.

If 60% was taken, your cut is 40% then its a partner sale. I had a sale on Alamy and my cut was 60%

Yeah, well, just remember that iStock would have taken at least $345 of that, but since they would list it as an $80 sale, or thereabouts, without mentioning their slice, you would have been jumping for joy.

Yes it said partner sale and showed the 2 deductions seperately.  One for 40% and one for 20%

Yeah I understand, it was just funny and there's no big "sarcastic" face for smart-ass remarks.  :)

Nice sale! 40% of something and that big number is a killer compared to 15% of some small sale, or 20% of a sub. I know Alamy is torture uploading and keywording and the one fail, all fail, can be spooky at first. Now you need a sale like that at the standard rate and you get the whole 60% Whoopee!
