Title: Need Alamy keyword help.
Post by: dbvirago on January 31, 2013, 19:00
I was looking for a new image of mine and thought the search wasn't working. In the essential keywords, I entered Bartlett Pears. If I search on Pears, this image doesn't show up, but does under bartlett pears. Another image has Fried Chicken in the essentials keywords and does not show up in a search for chicken, only fried chicken. I think I have seriously misunderstood how to keyword my images here. I have read the section on Captions, keywords and descriptions and didn't get that this is how it would work.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

That's really odd, as Alamy's search doesn't have compound keywords, so even if you keyworded, Bartlett Pears, it should show up OK on pears.
Did you double-check pear/pears?

Yup. Do a search there and choose new. Under pears there is one in the last week not mine, under bartlett pears, there is also only one - mine.

I tried it.
In barlett pears, there is only one in the past 'month', so I guess yours is one with pears in a bowl and one on the table with a wedge cut out with a knife?
If so, yours is the 16th pic on the the second page on a search for 'pears', sorted by age.

Thanks. Didn't realize how quickly it could get buried.
