Title: RGB 1998?
Post by: Mshake on June 27, 2007, 20:26
I am currently waiting to see if I get accepted to Alamy.

I know Alamy wants there photos saved in Adobe RGB 1998.

So I am wondering what format  I should shoot in, the RGB 1998 mode or continue to shoot int he sRGB mode and convert the ones that go to Alamy and leave the rest that go to the micro stock sites in sRGB?

If you submit to other micro stock sites do you send them in as  sRGB or  RGB 1998? I know they will take either format since I have submitted both versions to ten sites.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Mike

well firstly you should shoot in RAW then you have the choice to choose later. :)

However, if you are fixed on shooting in jpg or don't have a choice, i would shoot in adobe RGB 1998.  The color space is much larger than sRGB which means it has the ability to record more color and definition in the photo. - then if necessary convert the photo to sRGB at a later time.
