Big surprise by Alamy for me. 4 good sales for 3 months! Cant believe! I was waiting 2 years for a sale and now - 4 sales in 3 months. How are your sales, do you notice increase?

Nearly every "good" sale at Alamy is a surprise. The $8-$30 once I get each month, the $100+ I do not, it's more random.

2014 has not ended yet so your graph may rise :)

My Alamy beast is dying slowly... I think will die this year...

2014 is like death warmed over, except for the 'warmed over' part.

I am still waiting for my ship to arrive... ???

15 sales in May! No complain :) 28 sales in 2014

I haven't checked in on Alamy in a long time, only to discover 2 sales, one for Nov 2013 and one for March this year. Pretty sure I had checked in at the end of last year, do they take a long time to show sales? I haven't uploaded there in 9 months, might throw them a few more as I think they've just outdone 123 (and i've hit payout I think). I'm off to work out how to get that money out. :)

Sales can take a very long time to show.
If you've hit payout, it should be sent to you automatically within the next very few days.

Sales can take a very long time to show.
But they don't adjust the old months' sales data for a late-reported sale, they put it into this month's figures. That's why you can have an RM sale today and when you check the license details it says it is for a usage period that has already expired. If a sale is showing in Nov 2013 earnings then it will have been visible for six months or more.
A sale in the last day or two of the month can be overlooked because if you had a May 31 sale then it won't appear in the May list until June 1, when refreshing the one-month's sales tab and earnings balance tab will only show June's figures (albeit the cash from the sale will be recorded in the cash balance outstanding numbers).

Alamy is a huge underperformer and almost has too many photos for its small market share. The photographers there are suckers for punishment since if you grow your portfolio there it's more or less to tread water. Having said that if you have several thousand images, which I do, then you can guarantee a few sales each month, which is better than nothing. I don't spend much time on it these days though. A small burst once in a while.

My stats are similar to ShadySue's. 596 photos. I'm happy.

Am I reading that right? You made 10k in 2012 on Alamy alone, with 596 pictures??!!!
Respect!
ETA: Do RM pictures really sell that well on Alamy? If so don't know why I'm wasting my time with RF! :o

Had four sales this month - showed up near the end of the month. Best month in a while there. I have around 650 files there.

Very impressive off that small amount of photos. That is many times above what an average Alamy photog will achieve. Those are GROSS figures as well, so 10K means the photog actually made around 5K, very misleading and Alamy's way of reporting
-
Rimglow, you're my master! Omg, how did you do that with isolateds? :o

I don't sell RM pictures anywhere. Alamy has been my second best seller, after Shutterstock, since 2010. Also, I'm opted in for Novel Use and sell a lot of those. But, a good portion of my sales are $30 to $140 each. It amazes me. I can barely make a monthly payout at 123RF, Bigstock, or Canstockphoto.

Well you deserve it. Your workflow, mor the way you shoot multiples and blend is admirable and I am sure time consuming.

Very very impressive! You clearly know what you are doing. Congratulations!

rimglow- very impressed! My port on alamy - mostly RM editorial - is about the same size as yours but not nearly as impressive. Good going! I wouldn't have thought isolations would sell so well on Alamy - you have a nice variety of subjects.
Do you have the same RF photos on alamy and the micros or do you keep them separate?

Pretty much the same portfolio across all sites.

The shape of my graph is similar to Rimglow's, but a little more drop off after 2012, and a lot lower with more images.
-
Rimglow, are those your net earnings, or gross sales figures? Either way impressive, but want to know if we are comparing apples to apples.

They are GROSS earnings only. As all Alamy contributors know, all their reporting and figures are presented as gross figures (before they take 50% or 70% for a distributor sale) which makes no sense at all to me. Maybe it's a subconscious way of making the figures look better than they actually are

Apparently that was how sales were reported in traditional RM companies, but I can't vouch for that.
It's also how most on the forums report their monthly earnings, which can lead to unrealistic hopes from newbies going in from micro. ;)

I guess I haven't seen that graph on Alamy. I keep my own records and only consider to have made what I actually took home, so if I see somebody made 10k, I assume they got 10k, not half that. Pardon my confusion.
Edit - I found the graph. Turns out I grossed around 9k the same year, but on more than twice the # of pictures, and my falloff is much sharper in 2013 and down to now. So Rimglow is still doing very well in my book.
