A question for any of you residing in the UK who send images to Alamy on disc. What is the usual lag time between posting and receiving a media received e-mail?
I posted one DVD on the 30th of November and another on the 5th of December.
I received a "media received" e-mail on the 8th of December. From previous experience (usually 2-3 day lag) I would guess the first disc has gone AWOL as it is the silly season when British folk post pieces of cardboard to people they won't talk to for the rest of the year overloading the postal system.
Just wanted to see if anyone had experienced any problems recently at Alamy. I will eventually find out when they say how many images were on the media in a week or so but I would prefer to get the right disc to them ASAP

Spooky I posted two questions yesterday and both were answered this morning it was the second CD (thank God I had a different number of images on each disc) so a 2-3 day turn around.

2-3 days? I sent them my 10 test images on September 29th. Got reviewed and accepted this morning after waiting patiently. I have about 2,000 images to send them - hopefully my other CDs won't take as long.

i think fintastique was referring to how long it took to get from the post office and to the stage where alamy says they have received your media (not reviewed)

Yep 2-3 day wait for media received not reviewed e-mail.
The test batch always takes ages
In my experience
Day 1 post media
Day 3 media received e-mail
day 6 processing - number of images mentioned
day 14 awaiting QC (approximately)
day 30 passed QC
Huge keywording exercise and then viewable with 24-48 hours
Usually 4-5 weeks to get them pass QC though if you send a few CDs a few weeks apart sometimes the later CDs get uploaded faster. I had one CD online within 9 days.

Here's my experience ( so far! )
Day 1 - Shipped via USPS
Day 8 - Media Received email
Day 21 - Processing
Looks like my QC is taking a bit longer =\
