Title: Uploading to Alamy - Do you take out the comma between keywords?
Post by: Dantheman on September 13, 2012, 04:00
Hi,

I'm in the middle of uploading/keywording a batch for Alamy. It's taking for ages!!!
The most time consuming thing is, taking out all the commas between keywords.
Do you do this? I read somewhere in the instructions that it should be without commas, but does it really make a difference?

Would love to hear some tipps etc. because at the i'm in doubt if it is worth it spending so much time for one agency.

I don't take out the commas. I submit to Alamy the same images I submit to other agencies. No troubles so far.

I only take out commas in the Essential Keywords so that I can get the maximum number of keywords possible.

ok cool. Guess i will also not do this anymore.
Still wondering if it makes a difference, since they state that keywords should be separated by spaces.

I get sales so the keywords are still searchable.
Unless of course they are all coming from the essential keywords.  I find on the sites that show which keyword an image was bought on it is over 90% of the time from the first half a dozen most important keywords.

Thanks for the info. Going to save me a lot of time :D

Alamy automatically removes commas fromt he ICTP data, so why should I add them? if they remove them, it probably works fine without them

I never added them! I removed them (manually), since i didn't know that alamy does this automatically

I just upload same files as to microstock, with keywords in IPTC. Just copy paste the first few keywords to essential keywords field
