Just wonder does anyone have any video sales on Alamy? Seems to me that prices are expensive compare to other agencies. I wanna try but..... does it worth?

I asked if I could submit but they didn't want my portfolio.  It's taken too long for them to open up video for all of us.  Not easy to sell when they don't have my clips :)

Did they give a reason, or just not respond? I wonder if it's because your 1080p clips start at only $29 on P5? Perhaps they felt it wasn't a good idea to have the same product selling there for $199 to as high as $1399? That's the reason I haven't even bothered to request submitting rights -- I would not feel right selling the same product for that much more money (though my prices for 1080p clips are somewhat higher than yours, they don't approach Alamy levels even on iStock).

They told me I needed more than 300 clips.  I think I had close to 300 clips at the time but didn't want to argue about it, as I thought it would only be a short wait until the site opened up for everyone.  I was wrong about that.

I doubt price is a concern, as they have never questioned people selling stills at much lower prices.  That's not how they operate.  I would prefer it if they did separate out files that are selling on lower priced sites but they have never done that.  I had a separate portfolio for stills with alamy for several years and only started uploading my microstock stuff when it was apparent that they have absolutely no desire to stop people uploading images that can be licensed for less on other sites.

It's still pretty a young part of Alamy so all they're interested is high volume, high quality producers and archives to get the sales going.

I'd love to sell there but I also would have to step up my game to score some sales there.

Maybe they will open shop for everyone in a year or two who knows - maybe they will announce something around xmas...?

They haven't gone for high quality, there's lots of clips that I can't imagine buyers wanting.  Alamy only review for technical quality for stills and I presume this applies to their video clips as well.  That's their USP and it would be crazy to have different policies for still and videos.  So they need a huge collection, as a lot of it is going to be low selling and non-commercial.  I don't see why it has taken them this long when other sites have opened up to everyone in a much shorter time.  Can't think why buyers are going to use them instead of Pond5, their only chance is to have lots of clips that the other sites don't have.  As we've seen with stills, sites that are late to launch have found it almost impossible to get buyers.  Alamy hasn't really started yet, I think their collection is just going to put buyers off and they have missed a chance to offer them a good alternative to what's already available.
