Views / Zooms huge drops in April

(1/1)

Brasilnut:
Perhaps unsurprising, some big drops in views/zooms at Alamy (port = 11,700) when taking into account the 1st until 13th of Feb/March/April. Worrying.

Good indication of what's going on across the sector.

Astrantia:
Since Alamy does not offer subscriptions, this is what I see overall with all agencies:

on demand sales totally fading away, only cheap subscription sales left :(

ShadySue:
A guy I know who has been out and about photographing corona-related editorial/Live News in the UK (he's very much a full time Live News tog and has accreditation) has been getting plenty of sales, but like you say, unsurprisingly a dearth of other sales. Same guy actually found an old photo of mine in a newspaper today, so my month may not end with exactly zero!

Roscoe:
No wonder. Travel industry is basically shut down and the economy is taking a hit. Same for my ports across the agencies.
News outlets have bigger fish to fry than writing about hipster coffee bars or ecological friendly city bike sharing, for instance.

That said, no doubt some ports are on fire now.
Early adaptors of the COVID-19 trend, medical, home working or cocooning... I guess they are selling licenses like hot cakes.

But that's not my port.
