Yes! Do so and if you can include also "images uploaded" that would be perfect ;-) I agree, they started off at the same time as snapvillage - but what a difference. Only thing is - I would love to know WHO they are, also if I have my suspicions (positive ones ;-) SY

I wrote and explained that I although I understood their reasoning for wanting images left up for 400 days I was uncomfortable in signing on because of that.  They wrote back and told me that as long as I did not take the sign on bonus money being offered then I was free to remove my images and cancel my account at any time.

I like this email I just received from them.  They mean business.  Look out istock ;D

Dear Artist,

We are happy to see you contributing to the fast growing Albumo.com! Here is the monthly update on our future plans and current progress:

Our Plans:
In order to grow strong & competitive on the royalty free market, Albumo will start a massive advertisement campaign after our photo stock reaches a mark of at least 200,000 images. Meanwhile, Albumo is the rapidly growing royalty free community with over 100,000 images at hand.

To speed up the process and to help us start advertising your art work sooner, we encourage you to spread the word about Albumo and invite your fellow artists so they could contribute as well. To do that with the pleasure of 10% royalties, please use our Referral Program links!

Current Progress:
Our Marketing & Development teams are currently working on three main tasks, which involve active improvement and further development of Albumo.com. These tasks are as follows:

   1. Optimization of Albumo programming system in order to reach a more robust responsiveness of the website.
   2. Development of a personal profile page through which artists could actively promote and sell their works. The personal profile will have a variety of features that will enhance members communication through bloggs and social (professional) networks.
   3. Finalization of our marketing strategy that will allow a quick capture of the royalty free market.

We thank you for all the excellent and hard work you have done so far!

Truly Yours,

Albumo.com

I just had a quick look at their site and all the photos seem to be selling for 1 credit regardless of size (even a 16mp fractal) I presume credits are selling for $1 so 50c per photo not a great deal.

Hang on was this the site where once you have 5 Dls on an image then proper prices kicked in? Ok for those with lean mean portfolios but for those with low interest portfolios (where your Dls are spread through out the portfolio) not a great deal.

price list

not keen on the size bands

600 x 800
2mp
10 mp
original size

I have a 8 mp camera so until an image is DLed 16 times I will only earn 50c and then I can only earn $1 until i reach 50 DLs

20 credits (50% for us) for unlimited resale licence seems a bit cheap

Strange both the best sellers are 51 Dls each and by Photoshow obviously one of the first major player to sign up.

Hopefully they are about ready to ramp up and take off.

I've seen a lot of referral links in this thread, some obvous and some not no much.

Anyway, anyone not there yet and still want to, here's mine.

Just signed up with them myself - I agree with the 8MP camera remark - that 10+ band is painful (and, I'm willing to bet, will result in some unscrupulous "upsizing" via the various tools out there).

On the plus side, having just struggled with some updates to fotolia, the bulk upload feature at Albumo is a delight - even if it didn't pick up my meta tags...

Here's hoping they take off. :)

Finding the site very slow with a long drag on pages to load.

How is it for you?
