Title: Albumo, not dead?
Post by: madelaide on May 01, 2009, 18:53
I have just found out I earned US$8 with one sale in Albumo.  What a surprise.  It looks like they are not dead yet.  Would that be an EL?

PS: I have just found it was a "TL", which is one of their ELs.

They are the only site I have removed my portfolio from so far.  A few sales are pointless unless you can reach payout.  It is like giving them the money for your sales.  If the payout was $10, it would be OK but I think it was $75, impossible to reach for 99% of us.

I was going over the Albumo site yesterday and found out, that there is some problem.

Look here:

At Pixmac, we're paying regularly. From $50. And it goes well, even we're also a newcomer. Have anyone bad experience with Pixmac?

Thx. Vitezslav, CEO

I don't see what this has to do with this thread but as you ask, I don't like the prices from $0.06 for subs on your front page.  We want higher prices, undercutting the market is a big mistake.  The buyers are prepared to pay more, all the sites I am on that charge more are doing well.  Albumo tried to undercut the market and have failed.  You will have the same problem, people wont support a site with such low prices.

Huh... Last image there deleted just minute ago!
So, they are 3rd agency I've bailed out from!

If Photoshow said they are not OK - then they are not ok for sure!

I had to do the same thing Bobby did, and even went so far as tag my most popular photos with links to Dreamstime.  It took several months before Albumo finally honored my request.

Luckily I didn't have so many photos on Albumo. I used the tip to delete 2 photos at the same time at 2 different computers. But that would still take a long time for someone like photoshow. He has more than 3000 photos at Albumo. That will cost him more then 4 years that way, oeps

peep: Please write to [email protected] she will send you all the info required. W've paid almost all contributors with the $100 option (3 remains as far as I know, we're in contact with them). So if you have the 500 photos accepted, look here http://blog.pixmac.com/2009/03/03/photographers-where-are-you/ (http://blog.pixmac.com/2009/03/03/photographers-where-are-you/) and please write to Lucie.

Thank you!
