Hi there. I am really enjoying Albumo's interface. I especially like their suggested keyword feature.  I hope this site really takes off as they seem to be doing "the little things" to the contributors experience.

I'm uploading as fast as I can on this site :)

What do you think?

Does Albumo have a chance of "taking off" ?

Mark

Velvia

Albumo`s interface is really nice. I agree on that.
But i`m not so sure if it will take off or not. Sales are really slow there.

My honest opinion: No, I don't think so. I've had one sale in four months, and have stopped uploading.

I'm with epixx. They did pay me my $250 for initial uploads, but no activity since. I will stop uploading on them as well due to the 400 day clause

I like the site, but I'm unsure about their review procedure. It seems to have taken a complete, and I mean complete, turnaround. First 317 photos were accepted 100%. Much higher than I expected, but I'll live with it. Since then, I've had 8 accepted out 170. Three batches of a total of 143 photos were rejected in a span of just 6 minutes. In fact, each batch has been either completely accepted or completely rejected. That tells me their reviewers do not inspect each photo.

I am pretty new to stock and may not have been able to afford the best equipment, but when my acceptance ratio at fotolia is over 50% and over 40% at DT for the same shots that have less than a 5% acceptance at Albumo, it makes me ask questions. I sent an email to albumo stating my concerns and received a reply that they would look into it and get back to me. 2 weeks later, nothing more has been heard.

I also think their help page is a little hard to find and not organized particularly well (but they aren't the only site on the web with this problem).

MHO is this: They need to decide what they want to be or they will frustrate a lot of potential contributors.
Nothing separates black and white as much as gray.

no sales since inception, stopped uploading ages ago.

I uploaded there when they had their 100 club open and collected my bonus. I did one more update in December sometime and so far a total of 2 sales.

I won't be uploading any more there unless I start to see some regular sales.

They promised marketing would start when they reached 200K images and I think they're well beyond that, but AFAIK nothing's going on. One contributor newsletter and nothing else since.

mwp1969

I've had no sales there with more images there than most other places. I'm stopping uploading due to 400 day clause.

Mark

P.S. I still love the site and upload process, however, they will have to prove they can generate the sales before I upload anything more to them.

dbvirago

I took their bonus, but only 3 or 4 sales. Quit uploading at end of the year.

Phil

i've had 7 or 8 sales so far, see what happens, they're still paying me to upload :)

Your images have to stay on the site for 400 days if you take the upload bonus.

I believe someone asked if they could forego the bonus so they could delete at will. I think the answer was yes.

PaulieWalnuts

If you forego the bonus you can delete one image per day.
