70 FREE videos?   70?
Y'all called it.  The "free" days are here.  And what do you suppose the videographers are getting paid for this?

Might be a special, I get the page that says 35 free.

http://www.bigstockphoto.com/video/free-trial/?utm_source=bigstock_web&utm_medium=website&utm_campaign=footer

Put your video projects in motion
with a 7-day Free Trial.
Download up to 35 royalty-free stock video clips.

New Customers Only.

Which might be only half as bad or just as bad? Free is free no matter if you get 35 slices or 70.

If it's like the past "deals" members are paid at the standard Sub Rate and the company takes the loss as a way to get new customers to sign a contract. Or it could be that pre-paid bunch that people got some advance from BS?

Just an observer I have no video on BS.

Shutterstock is basically giving away all 100,000+ videos on Bigstock for free already.  $99 for up to 300 very good quality videos is one of the worst plans from any agency ever.

it's the way they do business these days in the great North Am (USA and Canada). Even the banks do it, like Free Notebook for new customers. You go in to ask the Bank Manager for a free notebook saying what about me, I have been your customers since 1970 etc..
they laugh and say, then you get nothing from us.

I don't see my videos on BigStock, so what do you mean?

So the question now is, when is SS going to force our video content over to BigStock or force us to delete it from SS altogether? That's got to be coming.

I don't think SS will force us to move our videos to BS. They obviously think they can play the BS video market without it harming their SS footage sales. Perhaps it's a totally different client base and there is 20 times more choice at SS. However it does seem to be a stupid and greedy move on the surface, and a move towards undermining the SS business and brand. Hopefully they know what they are doing

I hope you are right. I just get uneasy because of the roadmap of greed all agencies have followed. They already gave the first kiss of death to $28 EL commissions so I cannot envision this being the end. Now being a fly on the wall at SS HQ strategy sessions could be very insightful!!

If all 100,000+ videos on SS are now on BS, why aren't mine there? Are you sure SS has transferred everything? I'd like to know for sure.

Shutterstock has 2.5 million videos, Bigstock has 100,000 high quality videos that they are basically giving away for free.

The videos on BS are by people who got paid to have them part of these schemes. You won't find your work from SS there.

Please ignore the people shooting the messenger for delivering the truth:

... The contributors who are participating have all opted-in and all of the content is being appropriately licensed with their consent. The collection will be limited and these early packages represent some initial efforts to test and generate interest in footage among non-traditional buyers. We will continue to work with participating contributors as we learn more about this new market.

And next someone will attack me for posting a quote?

Your SS videos are not on BS.
