Arggg!! The new approving process is a nightmare!
I can't understand the new interface; my image metadata wasn't recognized and when I tried to enter it by hand, the system refused it with a generic message. The data I entered wasn't saved.

I give up till they fix the problem. I am using firefox, maybe it works with IE?

This used to be one of the most simple sites to submit to - what happened !!?!!?

I hated it at first, but now I don't see it as much worse than the previous system.

But I'm finding a glitch... about 5 to 10% of the time, when I select an image to edit, the screen goes darker while it loads the data, and I get the spinning wheel forever.  I'll reload the page and try the same image again with the same results.  Not sure if it's something in my meta data that is triggering the glitch, but it seems to only happen on certain images.  Anyone else seeing this?

I don't understand why BigStock can't just take our uploads from SS.  I might stop uploading there.  Sales haven't been good lately, more buyers seem to of switched to SS PPD.  If sales improve or they speed up the upload procedure, I will start uploading again.  I make about the same with 123rf but it takes seconds to process a batch there, so I will carry on using them.

Perhaps because many upload reduced sizes to SS and larger sizes on BigStock?
On topic: the site reprogramming sucks. I always have to login via a silly pop-up screen that never saves my data, like other sites. So I don't check them any more. The old functionality was much better. As to uploading, did they change it again? I wouldn't know since I stopped uploading there. Their "new" upload system already took too many clicks and my earnings compared to 2008 almost evaporated.

It's also a site I would never recommend to buyers. Their database is quite spammy. Look for instance for "engineer" and on page 3, 29 of the 40 images don't have an engineer in it.

me? i can't even figure out with my old age pensioner's brain how to navigate this newly redesigned BigStock site. lol.
last couple of weeks, i was planning to upload new images and had so much trouble figuring out where the links went to, i gave up.
now, i don't even go in to check if i earn any money at all. i am too confused with their new spiffy design.

why do people feel to need to redesign something when it works?
maybe i need to restock my viagra !!! lol.

Can someone help me?  I just uploaded 10 new vectors to BigStock.  After adding metadata (title, description, keywords) for the first image, I accidentally clicked "save and submit", rather than "save".  The "save and submit" button ended up submitting all of the images with the same title, description, and keywords.  I want to go back in and edit the other 9 vectors with the appropriate title, description, and keywords....  but it appears I'm now not allowed to make those changes.  Nor can I find a way to delete the incorrect images and re-upload.

Can someone tell me how to edit or delete vectors that are now in "pending" status.

Thanks

If it's pending, the only thing you can do is email support so they will manually delete it. I can feel your pain. I uploaded 17 earlier this week and I can't get them submitted for some reason. The new upload system sucks 200%. Why do people always want to fix a running engine? It was all fine for 5 years.

Thanks for your insight.   I  did just send an email to support (copied/pasted exactly what I posted here).  I'm hoping to hear back from them asap so that I can correct the problem.   I just started submitting to BigStock a couple weeks ago.  I've been submitting to three other agencies for the previous year.  Thought I'd add a couple more (BigStock & RF123) in hopes of selling a few more images.

I cant get the ftp to work when uploading to BigStock.   Whyyy???    Back to the 18th century and upload one by one.    And finally when files are there ,its a pain in the *** to complete.... Why bother???

Back in the 18-th century, we uploaded with homing pigeons (brieftauben). Later, with Napoleon came the semaphore towers, what a luxury!  ;)
Seriously, there is an oddity in the FTP upload of BS. You can only transfer one file at a time in FTP. If you use Filezilla, go to the transfer settings tab and set only 1 simultaneous upload.

If it works, you owe me a beer.  :P

Weird.  I use the FTP upload built into Windows 7 and have never had a problem uploading to BigStock.

Old Roadrunnere is probably the least of the photogs on any site, and I'm retired to a meager pension.  I'm 73 and still successful at uploading to BigStock.  I admit it took this old brain at least 5 minutes to figure it out.  Like Lisa, I have had no problems.  :)  Just take a deep breath and calm down.  After you log in, click on "My Account" up top.  Seems the choises for finding Earnings etc. will be listed on the left column.  I upload to all sites using FTP and Windows Explorer 7.  We do have to be extra careful when adding metadata before pushing through though.  Sometimes I think they change things just so they can claim they are innovative.  Often making changes just for the sake of change can be a disaster!  Sor of like Washington D.C.  Ya know what I mean.

Hang in there; you will make it.

hi anyone uploading esp vector to bigstock? bigstock is the only agency that doesn't read IPTC from a jpg preview or accept a zipped vector with jpg.

It will take a lot of time to upload eps to bigstock, are everyone just do it manually? or i am missing something?

i read that to embed IPTC to eps but it doesn't work on my illustrator and it increase workflow just for bigstock in this case.

Yes. It happens with all browsers at times, but more with IE and less with Firefox, and even less with Chrome; I guess it has something to do with slow execution of javascript or similar.

I haven't found a way other than doing it by hand, so if you find one, let me know.

any bigstock guys out there? isn't it important to make something for vector uploading that can read IPTC from preview jpg? the only 2 agency that don't read IPTC, bigstock and istock.

I am uploading some vectors and i have to sit hours and hours just to copy and paste IPTC from my jpg.

It must just be vectors on Bigstock.   They have no problem pulling the IPTC data from my photos when I upload.

Don't forget about Canstock and Fotolia (if you still upload svg files). I think it is pretty much par for the course that vector uploading gets the short end of the stick. It must be a fairly challenging technical problem because a lot of agencies seem to have trouble with it. Dreamstime can't seem to get a system where you can FTP both at the same time. Most of the build your own stock sites, like Clustershot, don't even offer vectors. I've come to just expect it to be bad and hope that I'm pleasantly surprised when a vector uploading system is easy.

i think both canstock and fotolia accept IPTC from preview jpg, but need to zip eps + jpg into a zip file.

well, today i just uploaded bigstock, with eps and also a preview jpg, and it reads the IPTC!

check it out..it shorten the time for vector uploading.

I have already posted on BigStock forum, (five minutes ago), but this deserves a thumbs up.
YES!
MKtang is right!
It's working, it's working ! :)

Illustrator artists, great news - you can now upload your vectors to BigStock and keep all your metadata in place. It's working!

And one more thing - BigStock sales are way up.
Photographers and illustrators,  well worth the time to check it out.
BigStock seems to be going the right way.
