I don't know if you follow the forum discussions there, but there are two changes the admin is studying to implement:

Reselling of images (http://www.bigstockphoto.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1732)
Subscription model (http://www.bigstockphoto.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1750)

sounds good.  not sure it will turn the tables for them, but i wont complain
