It seems that BigStock heard our complains about deleting old photos and photos uploaded by mistakes and getting penalized for it on your upload approval rating, that's great news, they finally listen!  ;D...I just got this message:

We've decided to get rid of the policy that uploading and deleting files harms your Approval Rating. It was in place to discourage users from dumping hundreds of large files onto the servers carelessly, and then deleting them. But we understand that mistakes happen sometimes, and sometimes photographers want to delete some of their older material that isn't representative of their good current quality work. So this old policy is changing next week, an announcement will be made when it's live.

Of course we still encourage all users to be judicious about what they upload to avoid wasting bandwidth and server space...that's appreciated. :-)

Thanks again.

That is good news! I wish DT would do the same instead of their threatening how removing old similars would lower our AR.

That's very good news.  They heard, they listened (often not the same thing) and they responded.  Thanks for the update.

Very positive change.  Looks like they are really tightening up their collection and now making it easier for us to help :)

Echo , nice ! Surely optimistic news in all these uncertain times. I did write them to cheer. Even though my sales are turtle slow at Big Stock, at least we earn a decent sum per download. Here's hoping they keep listening to consensus.

It is not implemented yet. This is the answer I got today from their customer service after I complained that deleting of some files that did not get uploaded properly due to FTP problems lowered my ratio:

"As currently the approval rating is hard coded into the servers we cannot change it. If this happens again before we update our system to not count deletions by you the user do not delete them, just wait until we make the change."
