Title: Declining page views...
Post by: hatman12 on August 23, 2007, 19:24
I really am astonished at the declining trend in page views at BigStock.  The lastest Alexa charts show page view activity at only a third of what it was a year ago; BigStock appears to be in a vicious downwards trend and is breaching new lows almost every day.

I know some posters here have had success with BigStock.  My own experience is that they are easily the worst return per image of all the agencies, and getting worse with each passing week.

I'm surprised that an established agency like them hasn't done more to invest and grow the business, instead of apparently sitting back and watching as page view activity gets demolished.

Assuming page views translate into actual business, I would guess that customers are deserting and going elsewhere (see my comments on other thread).

Not good.

the bigest problem with BigStock is that you can only use an images ONCE.  If you can buy the same image for the same money and use it unlimited ... that's makes a real difference.

My experience is different.  My sales there have been going through the roof.  July was my best month ever there and I am currently tied with that for August.  I've had double the images licensed at Bigstock than I have at Fotolia.  Must be my style and the market they address.

I would have to say my view traffic at Dreamstime is nearly double the number of views I have for certain images in half the time being posted. The view needles move at other sites, I don't even bother going back to see the number of views on my images at BigStock anymore until a few weeks have passed ...

I would have to agree with Hatman that they really need to do something ...
