Title: Downloads falling
Post by: vividpixels on December 21, 2007, 00:31
It's been 10 days for me without a DL on BigStock. I've been there for about 6 months and the longest I went without a DL was previously 3-4 days. I had been averaging about 20 DLs per month until now. Anyone else experiencing this slowdown? My other sites are chugging along as normal.

Things at BigStock are about the same for me ... crappy.

I can concur.  They got off to a great start for me in December.  But after the first 4-5 days, a complete and utter shutdown.

Yep, same here. They had been picking up nicely and were on par with DT, 123RF and FT. But Nov took a nosedive and Dec has come to a grinding halt.

After a BME in August where they made #2, a steady decline to 4th place. On par but slightly ahead of IS and SX for me

BigStock has never been a top seller for me...  just always slow and steady.  Dollar-wise, IS it tops,  volume-wise, of course, SS.
Except for the low sales... I like BigStock.  8)=tom

Yeah, it's always been slow a low earner for me too but enough to make it slightly worthwhile to keep it around.

I wonder if they've done something to change the search? but I guess if it's just me then I am just unlucky right now.

Still not one download at BigStock since December 10. It's now been almost 3 weeks. I've been with them for about 6-7 months and prior to that the longest I had gone without a download was 3-4 days. I was getting a download every other day or sometimes a streak with downloads every day for awhile. Does this sound normal? I really shouldn't care because BigStock makes up only about 2-3% of my total earnings, it just bugs me that this is happening!

Sales are down a bit for me as with all the other sites this time of year but the higher prices have helped.

Ok it's only fair to give me half of what you earned.
I did a personal wish for you. I wished that  you got a download soon, and now I find out you did.

Please deposit half of what you earned into my paypal account ... it's only fair.

By the way if anyone else wants me to make a wish for them I will gladly for half the price of what you earn.
That's the going rate I think.

Is this part of the Wish Referral program at BigStock?  I would have thought Lucky Oliver would have come up with this.

It's been 8 days for me without a DL.
Usually I have 1-2 download a day at BigStock.

Similarly I went a good few days without any sales but got 2 today!

I don't have any special patterns in BigStock.  Dlds are more or less stable each month, although I can have 10 days without sales followed by a couple of sales a day.

I haven't done very well at BigStock at all.  But this month seems to have turned around, in one more sale I will match my best month there which was July 07.

They're 1% of my income out of 10 sites and downloads are falling. They're tied with LO at the moment.

they have been around 3% of my sales since mid last year, rising in proportion to my overall sales. Last month was slow but this month looks to be bme.

The first sign that things are not going well is usually slowdown in review time. The longer the review time - the worse the sales. I do not know if this correlation was observed by other people - but for me a slowdown in reviews invariably means no sales afterwards. It is like a flu symptom - first there is a symptom, then there is flu ;D

Just had a look. About 1 - 4 downloads daily 0.5-2$ on average 1$. Now and then a day without download, much better than in December when I once had 4 days in a row without download. So for me, BigStock is picking up speed and March will be very good.

BigStock is a very slow but reliable site with no emphasis on newest shots. Actually new shots don't sell. You can leave it alone for many weeks and it still sells. What's more important, they sell totally different shots than other sites so they probably have a different customer base.

They won't make you rich but they pay for my landline and electricity bill in the Philippines - that is, when I use a fan and not airco  ;D

I download every 3 days for me. But usually they are in the 2.00 range so it's steady enough.

I average 2 DL per day (this month) at 0.50  -  2.00. A trusty dog indeed.

Yes, BS is very reliable, better than StockXpert this month. They also pay promptly. I like them.

Around Easter is not a great sales month for any site so I would not panic yet.
