Since they introduced subs I have found that my sales have remained at exactly the same level as before. Unfortunately, about 80% of sales are now subs at 38c whereas previously they were for an average of about $1.
All BS seems to have done is persuade all its existing customers to go for the subs option instead of the credit option.
Is my experience the norm?

Unfortunately, I suspect it is. My average RPDL last year at BS was $1.96. So far this year it is $0.60, while average number of DLs per month is over 2X higher. Average monthly revenue this year is only 86% of what it was last year and that is a bit inflated by Jan and Feb before the cuts. So the change has resulted in a lot less money in our pockets - unfortunately not a surprise. If SS does the same thing it will be a disaster.

I don't know if it is the norm, it certainly mirrors my experience. Sale numbers are up a bit, compared to previous years, however this is offset by the lower prices.
Then again, this doesn't come as a surprise, does it? The "Subs-will-attract-new-buyers-not-deteriorate-existant-sales"-idea didn't work on DT, FT, or any other agency. Why should it be different on BS? Still a shame about it, though...

Whoever says that is spinning bullcrap. And buyers and BS are laughing out loud for each their own reasons.

well whatever BS is doing right or wrong - i just got a $2.40 sale. Combine that with 2 subs they're pciking up. And the month is less than half over. Looking for more sales (sus or not).
-
2012 average RPD - $1.25
2013 average RPD - $0.56 YTD
Volume of sales is up so if it continues the overall dollar return will be higher if the pace continues but it needs to be a lot better to have any hope of moving to higher commission levels.

Don't forget that $0.38 rate you're getting is going to drop next month. The $0.38 rates were set for just the first 6 months for Bridge users. And since no one is hitting the high RC levels they require to keep that rate, everyone is going to drop down at least a level, probably more.
I hope that Bigstock will be reviewing the RC levels and adjust as necessary next month after this initial roll-out of the subscription program is done and they realize that, as we all said, the current rates aren't achievable.

The current RC rates are indeed laughably high and not very achievable for more people (at least it is unlikely that I for one could ever match my SS sub rate). Unfortunately I don't think they want people to achieve them.
My RPD went from 1.19 last year to .84 so far this year. The monthly totals are a bit up, so at least a little bit is being made up in volume. Unfortunately it might be coming from SS.
