Bigstock has started with a new 'spam free' feature on their site. A single word cannot be used more than once in each of the title, keywords or description. Well this is a good idea and all but it simply does not work for the description.
The problem: Little words such as IS or AT or IN also fall victim to this rule, so if you want a description like
'A female sitting in front of the computer in the kitchen'
bigstock wouldn't accept this because the work IN is used twice.
or another example, if you wanted to write
'A large wheat field on the prairie, shallow depth of field is used with focus on the foreground'
PROBLEM - field is used twice...... daahhhhhh...
or
'bowling balls ready to be used in a retro bowling alley'
problem - bowling is used twice...... :( :( :(

I had noticed in my last upload a similar issue. It just came up as a warning, and i was able to overide it. They are still in the pending queue at the moment so don't know if they will get onto the site though.

how did you override it? I have had to delete the double words making incomplete sentences or leaving out part of the description.

I write my description as if it was a catalogue listing where the picture can only be seen in thumbnail: 'prairie wheat field, focus on foreground, panoramic frame'. 6/8 of the description words are keywords. I'm annoyed that BigStock insists on having 7 keywords - a lot of the time I only have 5, and have to add a couple as filler.

a week ago you had to delete the words. but yesterday I noticed you could override the warning. Not sure how it will affect search ranking. But because BigStock is that small for me, I don't bother.

I use synonyms and add typos to those words which can't be replaced by a synonym. E.g. "Hamburgg" or "inn".
But I don't understand the sense of this all. The descriptions should not be searchable, only the keywords! Well, and the categories of course.
Although this is a bit confusing and eating some time I will continue to built a full portfolio there. Want to have another full portfolio site to compare it to iStock. Takes some time, but I don't mind longer approval phases, as long as I am happy with the result ;-)
BTW: Hi, this is my first posting to this group. Have been a reader for quite some time now. This is a very interesting and helpful place!

It's true. What is the problem whit "Colored pencils on white background", what I think is a good simple description. Don't think there is the need to elaborate more. If I search pictures, I don't search word, that is the search engine job.

As Perrush said, it just gave me the option to overide it, with a warning that it might effect search results. Presumably thay have changed it to be less incovemient.
