I've just registered with BigStock and wonder how long does it takes for your photograph to be reviewed there?

They are very slow right now.  I think about 16 days.

:P not the best time to join as I don't like to submit and forget about photo, I wish to track whenever it was accepted or not(guess it's bad technique for stock photographer).

And what is normal average time for review?

Thank you for response!

Even when accepted at Bigstock, you have to look if they appear in your portfolio. My last batch does not. I also don't like the whole interface. If I was a designer, Bigstock is not going to be in my favorite.

At least there is some sales and I put them in the big 6 (more than 123RF in my case)

Here's the time I mostly wait

Bigstock- have the time to forget whit more than 1 or 2 weeks
Shutterstock- 2 days whit high accuracy
Istock- 6 to 8 days
Dreamstime-  4 to 8 days
StockXpert- inconsistant but whit surprise sometime 1 to 10 days
Fotolia- very short 1 or 2 days
123RF- 1 to 4 days

Thanks for info, Vonkara!
Fotolia seems to have lowest waiting time, but unfortunately I'll not be able to use them for now because of image resolution issues.

don't be surprised, they just examining your picture pixel by pixel, the higher resolution the longer it takes ;D Probably word scan in their name should suggest the way they review  :)

Talking seriously 2 months is really long, I would think twice before submitting to them as it sounds like either inactive site or poorly organized review process

I have it setup that I receive an email either way. Also the thing that I love the most about Bigstock is the honest, to the point rejection reasons. At DT sometimes I will get things like: What do you mean by submitting these snapshots do you know we are a professional agency, dont waste more of our time until you learn how to take real pictures! I exagerate of course but that is the spirit behind their rejection reasons.
Bigstock has real down to earth people that understand what it is to try to produce images, they don't treat you like a lower class citizen. review time for me is usally 10 days.
Regards

Review time for BS is RIDICULOUS! Only snapvillage beats them by taking a month or more.. BS I usually wait at least 2 weeks for review, sometimes 3..  istock could be nicer to non-exclusives, they get 24hr review, we 'independent' get 7-10 days..

They have suspended uploading until Feb. 20th to catch up on backlog.
Hopefully this will speed things up.

Bigstock needs reviewers, they must have only one or two.

I don't know why they even review images! I just look at recently approved images and saw 20-30 images of the same model and background. Talk about overkill!! Too many similar images.

Bigstock start rejecting some the hopeless ones and countless images of the same ugly baby. It is time to tightness-up and put a brake on the mindless submissions!

Never understood this thinking. When they resume uploading, everyone will upload all pix not uploaded while it was down, so they will be at exactly the same place they would have been had they not suspended uploading.

Actually it should help a bit in my opinion, as not everyone would find out that uploading is resumed right away, or may start uploading later, so in meantime editors would have time for reviews.

BTW they resumed uploading already.

Looks like the strategy didn't work, the waiting times are still insane.

My last reviewed only took 2 days!

I've got my last submitted images reviewed quickly as well, so maybe it's helping a bit.
Although it could be possible to lower upload maximum to those with small acceptance rate...(or it wouldn't work as it seems that at BigStock everyone had decent ratio :P )
BTW uploads are accepted again :)

My files have been pending for 10 days now. Might be a bug or are you also experiencing such long review times?

perharps the reviewers gone on their spring break.
they have been taking lots of weekends off to catch up and disallowing any further UL.

I have to agree, unless there's some magic about no uploads on weekends that would fill their servers or cause some kind of overload? Delaying them, changes nothing.

BTW Uploaded 33 files on the 21st at night, completed review process 6pm on 30th. I can live with that. If they aren't reviewing on weekends, that's 7 working days? Nine real days...

Meanwhile, polite rejections, even when I try to sneak in a loser with on camera flash as that main light source.  ;D
