Post by: litifeta on May 13, 2007, 17:31
Still way out of my price league, but sounds great.

i bought an old 1ds and it is like a lead weight.... however not playing sour grapes here.  if i had one, I would defiantly be using it :)

Not surprising, with the much cheaper 1DIII on the market that, in spite of the lower pixel count, is a far superior camera, and the rumoured release of the 1DsIII this autumn.

For that money, I think I would have gone for a 1DIII plus a 5D though. Much more bang for the buck.

Yep, this means the venerable 1Ds MkII is soon to be trumped. That's very good news - it's a great camera and those with the funds will be able to pick up a used one for a lot less than $6900.

... can't say that I'm tempted to get a 1D MkIII and/or a 5D. Okay maybe a 5D, but only because it's smaller.
