Well, first of all I would certainly hesitate before buying a 1000$ camera on eBay...

Don't be fooled by the 17 or so accessories, many of them can be found in any dollar store!

But the prices for the camera and the 2 lenses are not so bad.

In my opinion, I would buy the camera with the kit lens (in a photo store!) and then shop for any other lens, depending on your needs...  I'm not sure that these two lenses are well adapted to this camera; sounds like a Ferrari mounted on 12 inches tires  :)

And remember that Canon just lauched the 40D, so expect more rebates from them on the 30D!

With 15,000 sales and a 98.6% positive, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this vendor.

But like our one-eyed friend said, not sure that the lenses are very good. Most of the 'accessories' are crap.

If you want a 30D and if that is a good price for the body only, then go for it. Otherwise, wait for the 40D or buy the 30D locally.

Hi all,

I have bought a couple of years ago my 20D through ebay... no problem whatsoever and the camera still takes beautiful shots (90% of my galleries in fact... )

That said, this doesn't seem a very good deal... the lens are not good... you wouldn't buy them for more than 300 bucks... both...

The camera is IMO not worth it because it never really seemed much of an upgrade for the 20D, it was more like a 20D Mk 1,5. The real upgrade is now the 40D... that you you will be able to buy in a couple of months for 1299 plus lens...

Now you're saying, and what about the lens ?? Well, i say that if you think of spending 1200 dollars on a camera and use it with crappy 100 dollar lens forget it... might as well buy a 600 dollar camera and a 600 dollar lens...

If you're into photography and want to take some vacation snaps, don't buy 40D or 30D, but the low end of the range.,.. the 400D which serves perfectly... if you're into making some money and selling stock and so, spend good money on lens... and prepare to spend more than with your camera... i'm not saying that you can't with those lens and camera... but you won't take advantage of your camera's full potential and you'll get poorer results... but hey... there are guys in stock with Point and shoots... so you can do that, but it's never as good as a semi pro camera like the 40D (but with good glass...)

The Canon 30D goes for $999 on B&H. Do you need all the extra low quality stuff, and is it worth the $138 difference to you? It might be a worth it considering shipping is free, and it wouldn't be at B&H.

A local store (Best Buy) carries it for  $1499 with the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. But as said previous I'm sure it will come down in price once the 40d is out.
I would also look for a dealer with better feedback on ebay.
