I thinks so ,since the existing 5D is doing so well I guess Canon is not in a rush to add the new one to the collection. it seems that  even  Nikon D300 wasn't enough to change their mind:(

I noticed Canon has registered in January on the UPC database for the 7D. It has not, however, updated the PictBridget listing as it did a month prior to the release of the 40D. Perhaps it learnt from last time.

5D with 20 MP would be very tempting

Whatever they do, it will need to have 20MP or more. Sony will  most probably put their 24MP sensor in the 5D competitor, and although there won't be hordes of photographers changing to Sony, not much is needed for studio work. Just a body and a couple of good lenses, like a 100 macro and a 24-70 zoom.

Another interesting alternative is the Pentax K20D. 14MP and very good image quality, also at high ISO. Their lenses aren't bad either. And the price? $1,300 for the body. The Samsung version will be even cheaper.

The new 5D II will not be released at Photokina, but instead will be a surprise announcement on April 22, according to a source I am unwilling to disclose.

Here's hoping, although 15.3 is too small for an istock XXL.

15.3 is quite reasonable number taking into account 10-12 megapixel of cheaper models and 21 for Eos 1D (whatever Mark number it is). But this is still speculation as it has been for the last year.

I have owned 5 generations of Canon DSLR's and the 5D is hands down the best by a huge margin.  The images from that camera (with the 24-70 L) still blow me away every time I look at them. 

Can hardly imagine wanting to upgrade unless they come up with some pretty major improvements. 

My only complaint about the camera is the sensor dust so whenever I do upgrade down the line sensor cleaning will be a must. 

I recently bought 40D to have as a backup with onboard flash and the new menu system and live view on it don't impress me at all.

I use liveview for precise focusing when taking tripod land/cityscape photos. Do really appreciate this feature a lot for this type of work.

I think that is fake, because of the grammar. It says: Die EOS 5D Mark II mit Vollformat CMOS-Sensor mit 16 MP. I as a German would think that Canon would write it in a better German, with only one time mit. It does not sound very well with two mit.
But I might be wrong.
I just checked the German Canon Site. And it is exactly as if this was a screenshot. And some parts of the description were copied from the description from the old EOS 5D and 1Ds Mark III.
One thing more which lets me think this is fake. Just above the 5D Mark II you can see the last sentence of the 40D description on the screenshot. the 450D as well as the predecessor the 400D are still on this site. Why should the old 5D not be on there as well?

In the may/june issue of American PHOTO there is on page 25 an advertisement for Canon cameras, with three bodies : EOS1Ds ; EOS1D ; EOS 40D...
As if the 5D was no more on the catalog (yes, I know the 450D is missing too, but this advertisement is rather pro-oriented).

And in Europe you get a 200� rebate with the 5D...
