.. ok.. well no, it is not in stock, but I want to know when it is.

BHphoto aren't accepting preorders it seems, and their 'notify me when in stock' button has been maxed out. I am hoping to get this camera before the middle of December for a trip I am going on, but have a feeling the day they get the 5D in, they are going to be sold out in short order.

So how about, as soon as one of us finds that BHphoto has the camera in stock, we post here and notify others who also want to make a quick purchase?!

Adorama accepted my pre-order. I like them a lot, much better used items selection than BH. No affiliation

I am so concerned about the over demand too. My only chance to get the camera from the us is about xmas time.I hope they will have enough items to fulfill the demands.

I have asked a friend visiting US  xmas time. do you think I could buy/pay the camera  with my credit card and get it sent to her address in the US? I know they got restrictions if you pay by paypal but do they have sth similar for payments with plastic?

ete:btw I surely will be watching BH to see when they have it in stock or when they take orders.

ahh.. yeah, i guess i could try ordering from there!.hmmm...

@stockfoto
Yeah, i think bhphoto are pretty picky.  Your foreign mastercard address has to match your shipping address (if i remember correctly)

Seriously no affiliation -
thanks Helen for chiming in - it's better to have a contact and not needing it than to be stuck standing in the rain without a peep from the company one has a problem with.

If it were down to me, I'd give you all HUGE discounts, on everything!! But it isn't.............so I've forwarded your request to the Marketing Department; I can't guarantee what will come back, but I will certainly re-post if there is anything doing

Very nice!

I'm usually a B&H guy but if Adorama can put together a very nice package for us I'd be willing to try them out.  B&H, although service is great, refuses to give loyalty discounts even though I've spent over $10K there and no back every year.

I agree, and I've spent more than $18000 with B&H.

Its really disappointing that they can't see that loyalty.  I will be going elsewhere if I need something for sure.

Anyways, hopefully the marketing people at Adorama can see the potential to steal away a few customers from B&H

Adorama, shipping to USA is free, but in Europe is

FedEx International Economy
$191.70

+ custom oficials fee about 200$ when it arrives...

so for eos 50D 1400+190+200 = 1800$

that is a little bit too much. :(

but .... Still worth it due to the difference of prices between Europe and US
Is $ 191.70 includes custom taxes?

« Reply #23 on: September 24, 2008, 12:32 »

no, just shipping 190.

custom taxes are about aditional 200.

I calculated for EOS 50D (1800$ = 1240 euro), and here it costs 1300 eur (I have warranty near my place, and instant delivery :D)

It's about 1050 on ebay, uk shop. Don't know how much import tax you have, luckily we don't have any (just have to be careful that the item is not shipped from hong kong).
