Is it a good idea to clean Hoya Super HMC multicoated UV filter with alcohol napkin (specialy made for optic cleaning)? I have been cleaning my lenses with those, and never have problems. How about multicoated filters?

anyone?

Peter,
I don't know. I have a Hoya multi-coted filter (not sure it's the same series) and I use those lens cleaning fluid kits in it. Wasn't I supposed to? When I purchased the camera, lenses and filters at Calumet in London, I also bought the kit, so I would have expected them saying something if it wasn't adequate. It didn't occur to me it might not be.

yeah, but I dont use those detergent-like liquids that comes in kit (dont clean very well). I use alcohol napkins made for glasses, and other optics, not specificaly for lenses :D. But I find them very useful, only question is can they damage my filter coatings?
