Title: Entry level or mid level?

I've read that some people say think that the new Canon Xsi is more like a mid level dslr. What do you guys think?

Since it is replacing the XTi / 400D, it means it is Canon's entry level DSLR.
Canon's lower mid-level is 40D, upper mid-level is 5D.
Still, XSi is probably a very decent camera which will satisfy the needs of many photographers.

Xsi/450D is definitely entry level, plastic body, low durability, cheapest new DSLR from Canon.

I should have been more specific. I'm talking about the quality level. Some people have said that the quality of the Xsi is about on par with the quality of the 40D. Here's a link:
