Hi all I am busy looking for a new camera for my father. These are prety mutch what ive narowed it down to as he wants point and shoot with decent zoom. Any pros and cons I should be aware of before I make my desision or any alernative sugestions in a simaler price range and feature set. I am probably going to be borrowing it a lot for stock so that also needs to be a concideration.
thanks.

I can't comment on the Sony, but had a S9100 and didn't care for it.
If you're just taking general snapshots and don't make big prints, it's fine. It has a great list of features but in real world usage they don't perform well consistently. Focus in normal room lighting was constantly hunting even with the assist.
I think you'll have a difficult time using it for the stringent noise requirements for stock. Even when I shot at ISO80 I saw faintly visible shadow and dark area noise when the image was fit to the monitor. When I viewed the image at 100% I was pretty surprised with the amount of noise in darker areas.
Again, a casual shooter who is moving up from a P&S will probably love it. If you have owned a DSLR you may find its performance is closer to a P&S than a DSLR. But then again, I'm pretty picky.

I donīt now about the sony but i have a fuji S9600 that i use for stock.
And i what to buy a DSLR.
The Fuji is a very good camera for the price if you want to take pictures to your family or your cat. But if you want to go to stock, buy a dslr.
I have a lot of problems with stock because the noise. And the camera donīt let you do what you do with a DSLR.
Im just wait ($$$$) for the opportunity to buy a new DSLR.
You can use the Fuji in stock but is most difficult to do stock image with this machine that with a DSLR. And if your question is the money, you can buy the Canon 350D for the same price (a little more) and you will do better.
