I have been looking into getting a stills camera that shoots HD video so I can produce footage stock media. Currently I still use a Nikon D200 with the 18-70 kits lens which does me fine at a push.
I have been thinking of the Panasonic GH3 as it is amazing for video and pretty good for stills. I have heard mixed reviews about it being a serious still camera but as I use a D200 perhaps it will be an improvement ? There is also the Canon 600D which does both but the video quality is troubled with moire as are most canons.
If anyone can enlighten me a bit more I will be grateful.
Cheers.

Check out the Panasonic GH4 which will be available at the end of April! Stills are better then GH3 and video is amazing.

Ok thanks. I think it will be well out my price range though.

The camera is $1700.00 US which is a great price for 4k video and 96fps 1080 and decent stills.

$1,700 for "decent stills" h'mmmmm :o

Have you seen the 4k from this yet? I haven't but am tempted to try it out. Also 96 @ 1080p is cool, reprocess at 24 and you'd get some nice results.
Not to hijack the thread but anyone have any feedback on other 4k video/still systems in the $2000-$3000 range?

Yea I've seen that. A tad over budget for me. I'd have to stop drinking beer to afford it.

Yikes! :o
Did they misplace a decimal point in that price? That's about twice what I'm willing to pay for a house!

Sony DSC-RX10 might fit the bill.

Thanks. It does look a cracking candidate. Much cheaper too :-)
