There is some pictures from the new Nikon D3

If the D300 is not better, I keep my D200 and buy some hot lenses. I would be happy to skip this generation and buy the next one...
Note that the language is in Spanish, but the numbers are there so...it's not too difficult.

The D3 is such a leap forward that it makes it possible to take photos where it hasn't been possible so far, at least not if stock quality is needed. I saw a photo of some bowling pins, frozen mid-air a fraction of a second after they were hit by the ball, taken with available light. Pin sharp, with very little noise. That kind of did it for me.
I don't need to see more photos. I need to remember where on earth I put those $5,000 that I hid somewhere in that dream I had the other day ::)

WOW! the ISO 12800 grain looks like my D200 ISO 640 or 800!! It just blows me away! Now if they can make one without an integrated vertical grip like the 5D I'm sold!
