Title: Remote Camera Sync / trigger with PocketWizard TT5
Post by: leaf on February 10, 2010, 05:59
Ok, I finally found an answer to my question but it took a long time search on the net to find it so i thought I would create another page here with the answer.

How to remote trigger a camera using the PW TT5

The problem:... it wasn't triggering the camera.  I wanted to use a TT5 unit to remote trigger a camera.  I am using a 5D Mark II but I imagine the problem is the same for all cameras ...  I tested with the Plus II units and they worked but couldn't get the TT5 units to trigger the camera.

The answer:  To get the TT5 units to trigger a camera you have to first be using an ACC cord (CM-N3-ACC).  Then using the pocket wizard utility you have to make sure you either have 'Bottom Shoe Disable' mode CHECKED or 'Basic Trigger Mode' CHECKED.. you can have either of these checked I believe because basic trigger mode disables the bottom shoe...
Then save your settings by clicking 'Set Both Configs' and it should work
