Hey everyone, have been shooting for some years with the Sony NEX6 for stock footage and images. Guess its outdated now as i see more 4K clips with coming out and i get more rolling shutter rejections.

My choices are the new sony a6600 or the trusty sony A7III. The a6600 has the eye focus in video, no video duration limit and some cool new video features. While the a7III for a slightly higher price is a full frame with crazy good low light capabilities.

What would you advise, which to get.

I own the Sony A 6300 for video and I know what I am going to say is going to raise serious doubts, but have a look at that:

use mouse to move at any screen part and change to any camera you wish.
(Sony A 6600 not included yet)
Sony A 6300, 6500 & 6600 are more ore less the same.

If we are to believe this chart, the A 6xxx have the sharpest video among rather all cameras.
(probably due to downconvertion from 6K and smaller sensor)

Does this mean they are better cameras?  (always talking about video only).
No, but they are probably the ones with the clearest video.
This sounds too simplistic, as it does not take into consideration that Sony A 6300 have the worst rolling shutter and certainly much worse  that the A7.

There is also the fact about which lens are you using.

I personally find I get better results with low noise in high ISO only if I am using the Super 35 setting, along with manual black level and less detail settings in camera.

I might walk from 16 to 25 Km a day with my camera when I travel, so I prefer to hold the ligher one, compared to the bigger models.

Don't forget about small. the 6000 cameras are small and light weight. When you are carrying around cameras and lens weight and size dose matter.

And it seems the innovation pace is slowing down for sony. The a7III now becomes a very decent choice since the a7IV might not end up being all that groundbreaking
