Title: Sony DSC RX100 compact with a larger sensor.

This new compact from Sony looks good.  The samples at low ISO are quite impressive.

I held off getting the Canon PowerShot G1 X because it's too big for a compact.  This one is much smaller, it's sensor is smaller than the G1 X but I can see it fitting in my pocket.

Man I've bought the G1X recently plus two other cameras in the last two months, unfortunately I have now to skip this one :-(

The video specs look great as well.  I really want a compact camera that's good for stock video clips.  Hopefully this should be ideal:-
1920 x1080p 59.97fps (appx 28Mbps)

A good review on this video site.  Looks like it will be better than my Canon 550D for stock video clips.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 was announced yesterday.  They've gone for a smaller sensor with 10mp.  That rules it out for me.  I hope Olympus go for a bigger sensor compact or the Sony will be my only option.

I can't take any camera seriously that doesn't have an optical viewfinder, with the one exception of my little Sony TX10 which is just a toy.

^^^What poketable camera has a viewfinder that's usable?  I soon get used to using the screen, I do have a cheap LCD screen viewer that's as good as having a viewfinder but I hardly ever use it.

I love my RX100!  I bought it as an upgrade from the G9 I've been using for the last 4 1/2 and the image quality from the RX is far better.  I've only been shooting JPEG so far as there is no RAW support for Lightroom yet.  Very little noise to ISO200 in JPEG mode.  Definitely stock photo quality shots as far as noise/ sharpness etc goes.
