If this were true, what would you choose.
please indicate if you shoot FF or crop.
(I'm hoping this will get me thinking differently)
-
I'd have to become indie and shoot wildlife on 100-400 on one agency and 24-105 for most other stuff on another. FF.
-
One lens, for all sites

One lens, for all sites
100-400, for my sanity. :D

If one lens then it has to be a quality piece of glass.
Nikon 50mm

Canon 16-600 L f2.8 IS II :o

Canon 16-600 L f2.8 IS II :o
Weak. I'd go for Canon 14-800 L f/1.2 IS III. Myeah, that should do.
-
If I had to use only one lens for whatever reason/agency - I'd go with Nikon's 24-70mm f/2.8 -
since I use about 80% of the time as it is.

Ah, because I was beginning to think if I could only use one lens, I could sell all the others and go for this one, although I'd need to pay a sherpa to carry it:

I'd use my 5-1000 f1.2 IS L - since we are in fantasy land.
Maybe I could use a heap of cameras with different sensor sizes to make up for the lack of different lenses.

Mine is bigger than yours but of course lighter. Made from nano tubes.
Its a M series canon lens (next in the alphabet)
M series is so exclusive you've never heard of it,
Instead of white it grey, not battle ship grey (N series) but a special shade of grey that is one shade tougher than gun metal grey.
1- 9142mm f0.01 IS M
The IS works by moving the universe around the lens through quantum plasma transpiration.
24-105mm is probably 90% of my shots.

You know yourself, it's all down to what you have, what you take, and what you need.

Yes, I do, but that can be to logical a step in order to be creative. you have to poke the fire in order to generate some heat, if you know what I mean.

That lens is just too heavy for me :)
