Title: EOS 40D & Dust
Post by: Melonstone on June 29, 2009, 01:53
Hi all - Within 9 months of purchase my EOS 40D has twice been returned to Canon for cleaning dust off sensor. I'm v.concerned have defective camera (the dust is SO bad) & wondered if anyone else has experienced this problem with this model?

Don't get me started on Jessops, who have now had my camera for 5 weeks & have only just realised they can't repair it & have to send it to Canon (again).......but I'll save my rant about Jessops for another thread!  >:(

OK here goes now this is my opinion one of the only ways that dust gets on your sensor is thru the lens opening
the proper way of changing lens hold camera upside down indoors take dust cap off of your lens that you are changing real quick
I use a 30D had only one dust problem in 2 years. But I may be wrong.

I switched from 20D to 40D a few years ago and was very pleasured by its sensor cleaning system (20D does not have any, and since I replace lenses quite often the dust was terrrrrible). When I got 40D, remembering my experience with 20D I bought a good sensor cleaning kit. It is still unopened.
