I don't know, but the article seems to insist on the end of the DSLR while Canon doesn't actually say that.

PetaPixel lower headline: We�ve Likely Seen the Last Canon DSLR which to me is a bit of a leap, although not impossible. Lets shout and be dramatic... 

Once again, headline that Canon is done making EF lenses is a bit of embellishing of the truth for a headline. "Canon is going all-in on mirrorless. The company has revealed that it has no plans to create any new EF lenses for DSLRs� unless photographers demand more."

Truth is Canon will not create new lenses in EF format. Which is nothing like done making EF lenses.

Anyway, here we are again, watching the demise of the DSLR, which after 15-20 years,m when it's finally a reality, someone will come up and say "see I told you so..."

Yes at some point. Mine was, truth is, they are not designing any new lenses for EF Or not likely to be doing that, unless buyers demand. I don't think there's a buyers demand. 

Need some FD lenses for your old SLR? There are many still available on the market. Canon doesn't need to make more, plus lack of demand. I agree.

I mean, which gets more clicks? Canon will be discontinuing the 1DX DSLR, their flagship pro camera. or We've likely seen the last Canon DSLR.

Oh no, Nikon and Canon aren't making DSLRs anymore, I read it on the web. 

I am pretty sure it's not only Canon. I've noticed that brands like Nikon, Sigma and Tamron haven't really been developing anything but lenses for mirrorless systems for quite a while. So I suspect that that's where the market is shifting to. Not sure how long it will take and not sure that we are seeing the last models right now. It might still take a generation of DSLR cameras or two, but I am sure mirrorless is where we are headed towards.
I suspect that it is mostly people who have been using DSLRs for all their lifes who will stick to them, but people who pick up photography as a new hobby now will most likely pick a mirrorless system.

Pentax it's the brand that i use
It seems that Pentax sticks with DLSR

Although Pentax has no camera that can compete with the 1DX (or Nikon D6)

but they have the 645z excellent tool they can't compete with AF but easily beats the two in image details
