Hi everyone~ Let's discuss something here!
I found that many people are still using traditional neck strap, including me. It's so tired after a whole day hanging a camera on my neck. Besides, I have to hold up my camera when getting through the crowds. But when I using the shoulder strap, it frees my neck. And camera lens is downward, so I just need to hold it gently. In a word, it can free my hands in most of the time.

Which strap do you prefer, Neck Strap or Shoulder Strap?

This is the shoulder strap I'm using.

Shoulder strap. I also use a quick release belt clip when I am not doing a lot of walking but switching cameras a lot.  It also depends on where I am. If I am hiking, in a natural dirty environment I will stick my cameras back into the bag and move between shots with them protected.  I am actually in a situation now where my D810's have to go in to Nikon for a deep cleaning. This means more than the sensor.  They have to disassemble and clean the innards. I cannot get the dirt/dust to stop infiltrating my sensor.  So my time lapses are VERY HARD to fix in many cases to remove sensor spots.  This was caused by a weekend of hard shooting in the desert where I just used a strap. Cameras got killed by the dry, dirt environment as I moved around from shot to shot.  The point I am making is that straps should be used with caution depending on the environment you're in, such as a dusty desert :o  Different story at the zoo, though ;D

I havent worn a neck strap for years
They're tiring on your neck and you look like a dork to boot

I have Black Rapid but prefer Carry Speed which is super comfortable

I have never tried these kind of straps.
Is it not uncomfortable when it bounces on the hip or on the leg?

Both

Camera neck strap worn across the body is just like a shoulder strap.

No they are not dorky as mentioned it's just a means of carrying the camera.

I also have a Formit Focus shoulder strap which I use with heavier lenses as I don't want to put strain on the camera body strap rings.
