Hi all, any thoughts on CanStockPhoto? What's up? How are things there?

I"m just about to pull the plug on CanStockPhoto... the most maddening rejections and the least sales.

Hehe... anybody wanna tell me "it's not you, it's them" :) ?

It's them.

I have a pretty active port on other sites and I have been stuck at less than $5 to payout there for months!  As soon as i get it, I'm pulling the plug as well. So yeah, agreed.

The whole purpose of CanStockPhoto is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Rule No.1: Do not accept every crappy shot you can get your hands on.

Rule No.2: Do not sell 'em at bargain bucket prices.

Rule No.3: Do not raise the bar to obscene levels.

Rule No.4: Do not tell everyone what you've done.

Rule No.5: Do pull the plug. The brand was destroyed months ago.

When I reached a payout level earlier this year I left the site after being with them since October 2004. They just weren't fixing any of the problems and the 25 cent subscription payouts were diluting what little earnings there were.

No reason to hang around once you can cash out, IMO

Ah, interesting... I saw some earlier CanStockPhoto threads, I just wasn't sure if they were a result of CanStockPhoto's changes...Thanks for the replies. I am sure CanStockPhoto performs much better for heavy-weight stockers :) I've never really bothered to upload much there - for the very reason that they didn't sell - and I mean... what, 10 bucks in two years? Now, after their super big announcement about changes, I uploaded a few batches... and, still no sales, but half of those batches rejected (all of these shots are everywhere else)...

Here's the thing. I've learned to take rejections and learn from them when I see that the site that's rejecting knows what they are doing and has a solid customer base. But CanStockPhoto seems to be rejecting without that broad customer base that 'gives back' to all the contributors. For all I care, IS can reject 95% of my shots - cuz the ones they accept are SELLING. These guys.... maddening and unprofitable. And I, just like the rest of us, am a busy busy girl :))

It's a slow and laborious 4-6 months to reach payout but it has always been slow and steady. However, my last 8 sales there were all for $1.00. But the $0.25 sub sales are deflating. That's what drove me away from Crestock so I may have a change of heart after the next cash out. Pleeeez let Yay survive and thrive and I'll have NO problems saying goodbye to CanStockPhoto as well.

Dead (RIP) slow!

Remains totally in the background for me - will shortly be pulling the plug.
A lot of effort and no gain!

YTD, I'm 43% below 2007 with a slightly larger portfolio (stopped uploading August last year). Doesn't look too good   :-\

In a current thread there about slow sales, Duncan has this to say, "We have lots going on behind the scenes right now, but I can't talk about anything at the moment. Although I'm sure the forums sound quiet, we're not sleeping. "

This is almost verbatim what Bryan used to say in the same type thread at LO.

Just an observation

I thought I'd go read the sales thread on CanStock and see if there was anything else brewing in their forums and noted that Duncan's removed the forum's link from the site menus if you're not logged in. I don't have an account there any more. If you tack forums.php onto the site URL however, you can read as usual - he's just made it harder for the casual browser to get to.
