I am sorry but having been on Can Stock for over a year I have made the grand total of £15. Some of my images at best have had views no more than single figures and at worst nill. It's appallingly bad and these are files that sell well on SS and IS. They are also very picky about what they accept. Good images turned down (that sell well on other sites) for lame reasons like "poor composition" when I know that isn't the case (yes, I do admit when my images are poor composition but they usually don't get submitted). I have used Lightroom 4 to re-submit images I already have with them (deleted them first) only to be rejected second time round making their decisions look inconsistent as they passed the first time. I thought Dreamstime were poor for sales but Canstock are terrible. Why on eath they make it top of the low earners here I don't know.
-
They do OK for me, not in the same league as SS but worth using. I found it hard to get anything rejected with them until recently. They're a bit more picky now but not as bad as some sites. It's possible to make more than £15 from a couple of images sold through Fotosearch, so I think you should perhaps look at why you can't make more with them, instead of thinking they can't sell.

Mostly agree but curious about the Fotosearch sales. Been with CS less than a year but still eagerly awaiting my first. Are they a regular occurrence?
-
I do remember a few contributors doing over 250$ / month there (posted here at MSG), not my case :D
-
Who are fotosearch? Can't find them here on the list.
-
Herg, how large is your portfolio at Canstock? With 7k Images there I can definitely say they are well worth my time and consistently at the top of the lower tier pack.
-
Around 120 I think.

Look in the top right corner of this page. They are teamed with Canstock and normally sell at much higher than microstock prices.
But not often ... at least not often for me. :P

That probably explains it. I would imagine you'd need a couple thousand at least to see regular sales on a lower tier site.

you are doing insanely good actually ;D
120 files - 1 year - 15 pounds
5130 files - 1 year - 90 pounds (if I had your ratio I should be doing 641 pounds)

I always do 250$ with Canstock, very good earner for me, but I do mostly Illustrations. I have over 6k$ over 2 years with them. So for me cant really talk them down. Fast reviews, not hassle upload and good sales.

I think they used to only sell one size and I had a few around $20 each year. Now they sell them at various sizes and my last around $20 was in November but I've had a few for lower amounts. They just appear as "Distribution" in the sales history.
-
Sorry, I meant $15 not £15.
-
I made 0.25 there with my first sale a few months ago and haven't made a sale since. However, I LOVE their fast reviews. They seem to take anything with the occassional out-of-left-field rejection.
It's encouraging to see other people's positive stats.
-
They've been a decent seller for me. Lifetime RPDL is $1.41. I love those $19.80 distribution sales and the occasional $25 EL. But they are very inconsistent with the largest variance in sales. This month they have died completely - only one sale for $.25. In the past I have had several months of low sales followed by several months when it picks up. Not sure if it is changes in their search algorithm or just statistical variation in a low-earning site, but I hope this month's trend doesn't last long. Their easy, fast review process coupled with a high AR keeps them in the rotation through the low-selling times.
-
I don't see too many distribution sales. Mostly it's sub sales, and very low priced single image sales.
My frustration with Canstock is that I get a good deal of sales, but a very low revenue because of their pricing. As I've stated before, I see no reason to leave BigStock because of $0.25 sub sales, but stick with CanStockPhoto.
As I look over my recent sales, I see $1.25 for XL, $1 for Large, and plenty more "turn back the clock" commissions. I don't see a reason to continue supporting their model, and I will probably be pulling out soon.
-
I've been doing very well on a consistent basis at Canstock. Speaking as an illustrator, however. 8)

As an illustrator also I really like Canstock, it's usually top 4 for me.
-
Can Stock is mid tier for me. Way above any of the others on the low tier list.

$168 so far this month... I typically get 2-4 payouts per month. I've been there several years, with several thousand images in my port. For me, they're smack in the middle of the middle tier.
-
I upload weekly batches and see very good returns and bumps.
I also feel they have an easy uploading process with fast review times with high approval rates. A Solid middle tier earner for me.
-
Have they gone to sleep ? I have had files waiting nearly 3 days to be reviewed. I thought they pride themselves on reviews within a day.
-
Did you submit new releases? If so, it takes longer as their legal dep needs to verify the releases first.
-
Every batch I've submitted there all year has been reviewed within a day, including a batch submitted yesterday that is online this morning. For you it must be a release thing as suggested by Poncke?
The problem I'm having there is that sales have dried up almost completely - one sale this month for 25c. They have always had a large variance but not this low - this is the worst in more than 3 years since I started with them. Hope it is just a statistical anomaly and not a long-term trend.
-
I have no images submitted that require releases.

Alas, you are not alone. Rather interesting sales graphs and stats have been posted at http://www.canstockphoto.com/forum_read.php?id=6054 (http://www.canstockphoto.com/forum_read.php?id=6054)

I had not seen that - thanks for posting. My graph would be very similar - steady for the past few months with a huge drop this month.

Well, my numbers go up, I had what he had in February and March, its all normal. That dude needs to lighten up, accusing Duncan of stealing sales is nonsense.

I agree, Canstock has been the most reliable and rock solid mid to upper-low site for years now. I don't understand why people get mad at them from time to time, just because their sales expectations haven't been met.

Well, I did my share of complaining and in the end it got me banned from the CanStockPhoto forum. It is frustrating to see sales decline whilst adding hundreds of new images. Just, accusing Duncan or CanStockPhoto of stealing sales is ridiculous.
But it seems sales are picking up nicely for me again over the last few months,.
-
Well it's almost 5 days and still in the que. They used to review files within the hour.
-
Same here. Submitted Friday, still on the queue. But strangely 5 images I submitted on a later time, were reviewed. I asked support, and they told me my remaining images would be reviewed in 24 hours. They ignored my question on why the other 5 were reviewed before the others.

I think it depends. For me Canstock is on the third place ( after SS and Fotolia ).
-
Just had another sale; that's THREE this month. Credit when Credit is due.
