I'm new to Canstock -- uploaded a few images last September.  I'm up to 500 images now and very disappointed in sales.
Then I thought about the slow start at Big Stock.  It seems that nothing was moving until about 6-9 months after first upload.  And, even now, images that sell are usually images that have been there for more than 6 months.

Has anyone noticed similar progress at Canstock?  Or, is it really a lost cause?

I started in March 2012, added about 70 images a month and have 800 images on CanStockPhoto now. These are my downloads. There is no progress whatsoever but my images have improved over the year. So I either shoot unwanted content, LCV or just crapstock.

I know, consider me an average shooter, I dont produce HCV images. So if you have an average portfolio you should have at least the same numbers otherwise something is not right.

Poncke, you're lucky with this numbers. Mine are far smaller. But this is not the problem, the problem is the lack of growth. As I stated before, '5x crap' should sell 5 times better than 'crap'. The lack of growth smells fishy, and I see I'm not the only one seeing this "trend". Sad thing, I can see it at DT, where my sales are like when I had 250-300 pics. Now close to 800. Actually, for me only SS is showing growth as I submit more, maybe I should list here FT as well, but the others are not picking up, despite I uploaded more "crap" to them. They are selling "almost nothing" in a steay way. But not nothing. This bothers me.
Newbie here, only a year in this so hope I'm wrong.

I like them.  Very easy upload and earnings aren't bad.  Not on a par with the big sites but they occasionally sell for higher commissions and I get enough payouts to keep me uploading.  They accept almost everything and have sold images that were rejected by the big 4 lots of times.

I feel Can is much better then BS. BS just cut our rates. I'm sure Can is working as hard as they can. I feel it is unfair to say Can is like BS. Canstocks rates are fair and they work really hard. I always have 100% of my batches accepted on Can with very fast review times.........in my opinion far better then the SS bridge to BS which could and does reject whole batches for no good reason after waiting weeks...... I like Canstock very much!

I don't understand your response.  The question is:
Does it take as long to get started at CanStock as it did at Big Stock?
Did YOU achieve immediate success at Can Stock?

As for "like" ... NONE of the agencies are my friend.  I'm not sure they want to be.

In my opinion BS is just awful ......and never did well for me and the bridge is a joke. I uploaded 1000 items last year on Can and I did see immediate success on Can. I really do enjoy uploading new content on Can.

That's good to hear.  I have $5.30 since September of last year.  I'll continue to upload and hope for the best.

That's my opinion too. I don't know if it is an illustrator thing, but Bigstock was always a low earner. I've been there forever and they have never really put it together. They are just puttering along at the bottom. Canstock is not a top tier site, but they've been a solid earner since I joined them. They have a lot more potential too with the 50% royalties. If their prices were a little higher, they might actually make a run at DT in earnings. I doubt that will happen though.

No comparison between the two for me. BS was (i closed my account recently due to the subscription stunt) always between 1-2% of my income, Canstock varies between 4 to 12% from month to month, it's a roller coaster, but in average it's about 8-9%, and they give me the highest RPD of all. New files never sell right away on both, but as i upload my whole port at the beginning (a few hundreds files) i got sales right away.

 the bridge is a joke.
Interested to know why you think the bridge is a joke.  I think it's great as the only thing I have to do once images are uploaded to SS is to go in to BS for payouts.
I make a bit more at BS than I do at Canstock
