Interesting situation: before 50$ payout limit no more sells !!!

Yes, this is true!

Almost 1000 pics in portfolio, last few months nice sells (for CS) until reached 40 $.
Now finito, null, zero !
I upload every week, normal sales on other sites, on CS nada, niente, zero.

Upsss

Sales have been atrocious for me on CanStockPhoto. I think they have hidden my portfolio from search.

They use to have some good $9-20 sales. Now only sporadic subsales. I'm stuck at $30 so I guess it hasn't anything to do with you reaching payout.

And this are words of our friend Duncan:
+++we are continuing to set monthly sales records nearly every month in a row +++

Really, Duncan ?

Hi All,

First post on MSG after lurking for a while. I've been on CanStock for nearly two years and have been getting over $100-$150 a month for last 12 months or so and showing increases, albeit gradually, so sales going okay for me. Upload maybe 50-100 images per month but not just new stuff selling

Sales are not huge but steady for me. Among the smaller sites Canstock works ok for me, better than most others, plus it is very stable and seems well programmed.

It must be unpleasant, but - after many years with Canstockphoto - I am pretty confident that there's nothing suspicious going on, and it's just a statistical issue with all minor sites (few sales = impossibility to find meaningful trends)

Still anticipating my first sale.  Signed up 9 September; 314 images online; NO sales to date;
The tension is building.   :P

ED:  The Power Ball Jack Pot is $550 million.
Figure the odds.

I have no doubt that CanStockPhoto setting records every month. I had a down October - I haven't been submitting as much as usual - but my November has already beaten October by at least 10% and is about 30% above November, 2011.

i was stuck around $45 for a bit - and blamo! had a over $25 sale - so you never know when youll get a nice one.

For what its worth cs is a small site - slower sales , but when I get a nice $10- 25 sale I have to say I'm glad that a smaller site can still be offering some nice sales, even though it may only be once in a while...

On my side, selling mostly (95%) Illustrations on Canstock, they are my second best seller after Shutterstock, which means (for Illustration, and for me) they are doing incredibly well.

I have heard also the same from other Illustrators.

There is one way to test the theory of CanStockPhoto not allowing payouts-

Have Yuri put his portfolio out there and see if he gets stuck at $40 or $45  :-X

Wouldn't that happen in the first 10 milliseconds?

I'm sure the OP will eventually reach payout. For me Microstock offers a good opportunity to practice what Kipling says in his poem "If", "If you can meet with great sales and lack of sales and treat those two impostors just the same . . . . you'll be a Man." (slightly paraphrased version)

I agree, with Canstock it's better if you don't hold your breath waiting for sales.
They eventually surprise you positively. Visually the site is looking good these days.
In addition to being a contributor I've also downloaded from them.

I'm actually quite pleased with sales at Canstock.  I added 7 or 8 new sites this year to make up for losses elsewhere and other than Alamy where I love the big sales the only 2 that are producing  a regular payout are Canstock and Deposit photos.  They are both already up with 123rf and BS.  STockfresh, cutcaster, panthermedia, zoonar and GL are having very sporadic sales so I only upload to the ones where it is easy.

He is on CanStockPhoto, under a different name. Same story though, thousands of downloads

I   have  just  my  one  sale  for  9.73.  Was  hoping  more  sales  would  come.  Quess  i'll  just  have  to  be  patient  because  when  i'm  not  looking  or  involved  in  other  things  that's  when  most  of  my  sales  come  (lthough  on  other  sites)  but  CS  is  no  different.
I've  read  this  elsewhere  "A  watch  pot  never  boils"  -  ("A  watch  port  never  sales"  -/-  added  by  me)
Good  advice  for  me.

I always wondered how illustrations like in your portfolio can be sold as stock. Do you hold the copyrights to these engravings?
