Just now I saw quite a lot of views on my portfolio, but no sales? Anyone facing the same ?
-
It's always been a slow site for sales.
-
1000 images, each second day 1 sale (0,50 - 2,50$)
Not more. But nice money per download.
-
Really slow this month....usually ticks over......
-
I killed my account a while ago. While they were good to deal with, sales for me were so low it was not worth continuing with them.
-
" No sales in CanStockPhoto"
So, what else is new? 8)

Me too, but they never removed my images from Fotosearch. You might want to doublecheck and ensure they were deleted when you closed your account. Mine are still for sale there.
-
So funny, right after I stated what else is new I just got an email of a sale! Only $.52 but better than nothing...

Just got a note from CS. In the TOS they have 30 days to remove my images from other sites. I missed that bit.

Haven't sent anything in years...WHY?
-
I have been averaging between $300 and $400 per month sales at CanStockPhoto in the last 6 months or so. This June is very slow, about half of the sales of June 2013. Don't know the cause of this decline, but sales at CanStockPhoto have suffered serious dips in the past, such as when Google changed their search, and Duncan has found ways to get things back on track. I have always liked CanStockPhoto and found it well worth submitting there. :)
-
For me also Canstock is low earner. Bu their upload system is really easy so I don't spend much time upload. From time to time I get a sell a picture for 5-10 $. So it is ok
-
We just had a really good month at CanStock selling video. Much better than normal. Then today I received an email from them telling me that all the still images I just uploaded were rejected for various reasons. Never had that happen before. Oh well, I think we made like $3 there this month selling images so I'm not gonna worry about it.

Yeah they are going SS on reviews now. Had a decent month there though, #4 earner in June.

250 photos for 3 months, 0 sales, 1-2 views in 40% of my images, same images selles in other sites
really think i would stop uploading pictures there

I like CS but July was a total blank - 0 sales. Better to focus on the Top 3.

Don't agree- I had 25 sales with CanStockPhoto this July. Only have about 2,500 images on their site thus okay in my eyes.
-
I have had an extremely good month with them: I have sold one photo!! 8)
-
when CanStockPhoto first started, i joined them clicking Tyler's ad here. i found out they existed in the very city i was posted. it 's really a small business but anyway, they did not sell much 4 me either, so i fell asleep at the wheel and after many years of slumber, i woke up to delete my account telling them to keep my money for feeding the gulls at the waterfront.
i am not posted there anymore, so i don't know how they are doing or being run. but i would say 4.1% isn't much enough 4 me to do a resurrection shuffle with them or the other site who is also based in my glorious land mass. 8)

I have had that number of sales with a 2,600 file portfolio and I think it's pathetic.
Every other site bar Stockfresh and Alamy can beat that, and in many cases with a much smaller portfolio size. I have had more sales at Canva (still in beta) where I have about 150 images online!
The appeal of CanStock (except for illustrators who seem to do better than photographers there) used to be the occasional Fotosearch sales for much higher prices, but the last one of those (excluding subscriptions) was at the beginning of April (for $15.80) and I have to go back to last year in July and August for the two prior. In other words, they're so few and far between they have little impact.
For the moment I'm leaving my portfolio there, but they're already on the edge as they don't allow opt out from partner sales, so it wouldn't take much for me to reconsider staying

Mostly agree, but GL and Crestock are way worse.

Yea, I am going to clean up some of my sites this year. As Jo Ann stated CanStockPhoto is on the fence for me, but Stock Fresh is gone, GL is gone and most photos is gone. Just not worth the $2-$10 a month I make there. I am at $20 with CanStockPhoto.
-

Sorry, I forgot about GL Stock - they are worse (although very fair when they do sell; 52% and decent prices) :)
I've never been with Crestock, so I have no idea (but I've not heard anything good about them recently)

Your not missing anything.
-
I persevered with CS but now it's time to stop flogging a dead horse and stop uploading.
No sales this month and previous months ever amounted to more than a dollar.
-
Canstock dramatically lowered their royalties to a ridiculous level. I always uploaded them because they had been a fair site. Combined with the low sales volume I recommend to stop uploading.
-
Canstock have pathetic sales on my portfolio. Cant understand why I've continued to waste my time uploading there
:(
The Fotosearch tie-up came with such big hopes on the contributor side few years ago. But, with the kind of sales I usually get on Canstock, its a non-issue.
-
Sales there are very variable but overall I have made more there than BS and almost as much as FT. Uploading is very easy and that keeps them on the upload list for me.
-
I got a payout a month there or better. No complaints about Canstock from me.
-
@sgoodwin & @pixelbytes
Do you sell photos or illustrations? And how large is yout portfolio?
-
I only make $20-$30 a month on CanStockPhoto with 2800 images. But their upload is among the easiest of all micros and I will stay for that reason. I just went in and checked my image royalties and they are mostly 50 cents, 75 cents and $1, with only 2 in the last 25 sales at 25 cents. I am staying with CanStockPhoto for now. While Duncan doesn't come to these forums much, he reads them and is very responsive when you site mail him and his staff. I DO NOT expect growth there unless, potentially, a big name closes its doors and drives traffic to them. But the sales are consistent and I don't see the cutthroat behaviors....necessarily. I DO NOT like the $0.25 sub commissions, but those aren't that many...yet anyway.

Photos. A bit over 5,000.

Photos, with the occasional illustration made up of photos. The statistic I like to look at is total return per accepted image per year. From 2010-2013 at CS this has ranged from $0.24 to $0.32 - not great, but much better than BS which was $0.08 to $0.16 and not much behind FT at $0.18-$0.41. Of course, none of those are very good compared to SS, where total return per accepted image per year has ranged from $1.83 in 2010 to $2.33 last year and so far this year is slightly higher.
Stated another way, I have made from $24 to $32 per year for every 100 images accepted at CanStock - not bad for the few extra minutes needed to submit there every year. I shoot mostly landscapes, travel and simple isolations so I assume most people do much better than that.

Thanks for sharing the data!
Well, I certainly do much worse... This year I made the grand total of $27 with 700 photos...
I know my portfolio is still small but I consider dropping any agency where I canīt even make payout once a year.

I totally respect your decision of staying with them, but supporting a low seller with 25% comission and 0.25 subs may be a very unconstructive and harmful policy on the long term. However, as said, no bad criticism, I understand your position.

They still pay 50% and have not lowered their royalty as far as I know

They pay 50% on custom licenses, but not the regular ones.
Compare what they pay you (the link you provided) to the prices they charge the customers found here
http://www.canstockphoto.com/about.php (http://www.canstockphoto.com/about.php)
After double checking I see it averages sometimes more on 33% than 25%, nevertheless...
-
Sure, but they have never lowered the royalties in the 3 years I am with them. Sales plod on nicely. The only comment I have is that the light on their site is on but there is nobody home.

CanStockPhoto is a good site for me. About $350 sales so far this month, better than August and up about 30% over Sept 2013. IMHO people should think twice about dumping CanStockPhoto, which sometimes seems to favor older images (I started submitting there in 2006, I think). Patience may pay off with CanStockPhoto and yes it is easy to upload there, so why not?
-
I've been sitting at $49.95 at Canstock for just over a month now. Sure would like to make that .05 sale so I can collect my money! :)
-
I left them long time ago...

It is painless to upload there like you said... Photodune and Alamy, well that's another story.

Photodune is as quick as Canstockphoto. It is one of the easiest processes in stock. Resubmission is another story all together.
-
Canstock sales are down 33% for me since the end of the first quarter 2014. Ebbs and flows, I guess? Hopefully it changes. I love me some CanStock. They've been an incredible company to work along with, over the years.
-
...I love me some CanStock. They've been an incredible company to work along with, over the years.
Same here. Duncan has always seemed like one of the good guys in microstock. To update what I posted above, my Sept 14 was 30% better than Sept 13 at CanStockPhoto, the only site which had a significant year-over-year increase for me. And October is off to a good start, over $15 per day so far.
-
Today and, maybe, yesterday seems that Canstock doesn't work.
0 views in a day isn't normal
7 file in upload queue that not go ahead
Anyone the same?

This is pleasant news even though you are an illustrator (as opposed to photos). Documenting growth with CanStockPhoto is reassuring that they are still in this game and, in all probability, attracting more customers.

I got 6 images sale in September and better money per download. Uploading is batch process in sequence mode for the agencies I submit to. I never stop uploading to the agenceis. I got recent payout from mostphotos. That was surprise for me.
-
Well 2 years ago my balance was 30 something and still it is 30 something. I cannot believe that Canstock is rated so high here above Envito which sells my images on a regular basis. Is there any way I can withdraw my money and close my account ?
-
Does anyone know why Canstock have stopped counting views in the stats page?
My views are stuck since last week but I had a sale.
