Title: zip vector uploading problem in canstock
Post by: mtkang on June 24, 2010, 05:57
Hi guys, anyone is having a problem uploading zip vector to canstock?

the uploading system will show it is finished but there was a line of error message saying something xtml error, and the file is never been seen in 'unfinished' tab.

it is a zip file with eps and jpg with IPTC metadata. No problem uploading a zip vector before.

Hi mtkang,

Off the top of my head I'm not exactly sure what the problem could be. We're not aware of any problems with our uploads at the moment.

If you would not mind, could you kindly send us (http://www.canstockphoto.com/support.php) the exact error that you get? Any information will help us track down your issue.

Thanks,

Duncan

mtkang,

Thanks for posting a support ticket about this at canstockphoto.com as well.
You should have received an email with an explanation of the problem - but I will post it here as well.

The problem was that inside of your .zip file you had an EPS file that contained XMP metadata and a JPG file with IPTC metadata. We read the IPTC data from the JPG but then we allowed the XMP metadata to overwrite the IPTC data. This is something that has been fixed. Now, when reading .zip files, we only use the IPTC data from the JPG file and ignore the XMP data.

So EPS options include:
1) Upload EPS files with XMP metadata.
2) Upload ZIP files containing JPG and EPS where we use the JPG metadata.
3) Upload EPS files and then upload a .txt file with your keywords (or just email a spreadsheet to [email protected] and let us do it for you).

Thanks for notifying us about the problem.
