A not insignificant amount of sales would be reported as "[Image number] via [some design]" or something like that, with the same designs used repeatedly. I guess those were templates created by their in house designers using our work and we got the payment when a customer used them.

All those seem to have 100% disappeared. Is this what the Getty deal was about? they have stopped using our work direct for templates and substituted in work via Getty (maybe even the same designs) so pay a much smaller fee to Getty netting us only a few cents indirectly?

June of last year, I made $450 on Canva.  This month, I'll be lucky if I break $35.  That's how far and how fast they've collapsed.

Uffffff  :o im not the only one

I had not paid attention but you are right - those template sales have stopped completely, the last one was May 6th.  Multi-use sales also stopped this month - last one of those was May 8th.  May ended up being a decent month for Canva - trending in the right direction at least - but this month it is less than half, and both of those are only a small fraction of what they were 2-3 years ago.  They really were great at the beginning.  Too bad.

I just spotted several much higher value sales, as much as $20, where I am still getting 35c!!!!!!!! Anyone else seeing this? Must be a mistake, their FAQ clearly says 35% so 35c should only be for $1 sales! anyone else? I suggest going through sales carefully.

Justanotherphotographer - where have you seen these sales?

This month I have very few, seriously few, and all at 35c. Not a single 3.50 amongst them....let alone anything more.
Checking back - my worst month EVER unless something amazing falls out of the sky tomorrow.
Don't think I'll be bothering tinkering around with pngs etc any more....

Thay are marked as "One-time use" but for much more than a dollar, $3.50-$20 range, but still only paying 35c to me. I have several, go down your sales pages and take a look please. Have they said they will only pay out 35c for one time use even if they get much more on their end? All I can find is the FAQ saying they will pay 35% of any sales.

I have single uses mainly $1, some 90c and a few $1.40 - for which I got paid 35c each. Then I have (had!!!) multi use ones $10, I got $3.50. Nothing else....

If I were you, I would write to them and ask. They do at least have a fairly responsive support team....

Every day, I have several sales of the same image, usually in groups of 4 or 5. I suppose it's the same customer who buys them to avoid paying for a multiple license. And Canva lets it do that......

So far I've only had $1 sales (One-time use) for 35c or $10 (Multi-use) for $3.50. I never had any other value sales. Let us know what support says.

The $1.40 sales with 35c payout I guess shows they aren't doing 35% anymore. Did they announce anything about this?

Newsflash.  I broke $35.  I'm at $35.35 .  That's about 8% of what I made only a year ago.

They must be in bad straits.  I just sent an email to [email protected] and got this auto-reply: Thanks for your message.

I've had only 2 multi-use $10 sales since jan - all others single - my monthly total is down 70-80%

I opted out of the subscriptions, they deactivate all your images too so you dont make any new sales.
Funny thing is I still make the same amount of sales ie 2-3 a day obviously from people who had previously used my work.

Very sad state of affairs.

Support were very helpful and did say they were going to try and ensure original contributors would get a fair crack of the whip. I wasn't going to hold my breath though....they can reactivate at any time if you so desire....

Unlimited downloads for 12.95? Ten years of my work for $6.49? No thanks.

My understanding was that this was for a non dollar currency and the value was approximately one dollar so we still get .35 (I only read that somewhere, and can not vouch for it being actually true)

In other news it has been months since I got anything more than .35 per sale although last year I got a fair number of 3.50 and even a few $35 sales. My old reliable sellers have only sold a few times this month (as opposed to nearly every day in the past) and the images that were part of a pre-made image haven't sold at all this month and the last one was May 5th.

No, there has been no news about the $1.40 ones as far as I am aware. I'm guessing the 90c ones are from their Chinese wing...maybe the others are too? Anyway, it all seems fairly academic now as sales simply fizzle out..... :(

I have $5 and $20 One-time use Licenses sold where I receive $0.35. I think that they cannot be explained with non-dollar sales. It is really confusing.

Let's face it, Canva is dead. At least for contributors. As everything, that Getty touches.

7/1/2018, I had 20 sales with 3 of those extended ($3.50).  Yesterday I had just 3 $.35 sales.

I had this 1.40 sale last year so I asked, and that's what they replied:

"If you are seeing 1.40 on your sales, that is roughly the converted amount of $1 USD to AUD (Australian Dollar). Note that royalties are still based on the USD license purchase. That's why it looks like you are "not getting" 35% of 1.40. Don't worry as the all your sales are still recorded and paid to you based on USD pricing.""

It is interesting. What currency could be $5 and $20?

My Canva sales tanked for the first time this month.  Funny how every site seems to follow the same pattern.  Just when you think they're a reliable source of income, earnings fall off a cliff.  I've given up deleting my portfolio from sites.  I keep thinking I should start selling prints but haven't had the motivation, hopefully this will help.
