Title: Upload progress @ canva?
Post by: Mancubus on February 02, 2021, 05:47
Hi there,

I've started to upload several illustrations to my new canva account.

But I can't see any progress respectively any stats whether my uploads are approved or declined.

How long does such an approvement progress take?

Thank you in advance.

It usually takes a really long time, can be even a month or two. I don't know exactly, because they don't notify you and I don't check so often. They also reject a lot (I only have 10% of my portfolio there) and they don't give you a reason of rejection. So it's annoying, but the sales are good (I make almost the same amount on canva with 70 vectors as I make on Adobe with 700).

How do you upload vectors to canva, I mean, do you upload eps file and jpeg in zip file, or just eps.?

I use ftp - EPS + JPG (with metadata embedded).
Lately they made it possible to upload vectors directly via their site, but they ask for the metadata to be included in a CSV file. I don't want to do this extra work, so I prefer the ftp method.
I embed metadata in the JPG file and that works for almost all agencies.

i try to upload my vectors (only eps files) directly via their site (i put the metadata inside the eps file in adobe bridge) and it work better than the ftp, it upload in seconds to my portfolio, but they are waiting for review for long time as always... try it!

Well I've uploaded several EPS-files (Vectors) with integrated metadata.
I hope this will be accpeted.

OK ... than I have to be patient....

About 2 months, currently. I upload via WeTransfer, and I get a notification when they download the files. They appear as In Review on my account. Then I regularly check Canva to see when they are approved. You won't get a notification if they are rejected or approved. It will just be marked as such in your portfolio.

(I make almost the same amount on canva with 70 vectors as I make on Adobe with 700).

This is true. I stopped uploading to Adobe. I really think their user base is more photo heavy, not vectors. I mean, the company is the go-to for photo manipulation so it only makes sense.

Well I can't see any of my vectors which I've uploaded. It's empty. I guess those files are still in the review queue.
I wonder why you see your files in your portfolio, whether they are approved or not?! I don't see any files there...

Try this link: https://www.canva.com/portfolio (https://www.canva.com/portfolio) and switch from rasters to vectors in the dropdown menu.
BTW January sales are available now and canva just passed AdobeStock for me in earnings.

Yep, what zsooofija said. This link also still works for me (Canva gave it to us back during some hiccup with accounts as an alternative):
https://www.canva.com/h1-content/portfolio#&types=vectors (https://www.canva.com/h1-content/portfolio#&types=vectors)

Update. Last upload January 14, now out of review. So about one month review time now. Looks like they might be recovering from the pandemic backlog. So hopefully we can create seasonal art this year without needing a six-month lead time.
