I was consider to buy PANTONE huey some day and wonder if anyone using it? (Decide on this one since it's working with Agryll on Linux)
Would appreciate any feedback about it's work and how does it compare to other calibration tools.
it also would be interesting to know how useful feature of adapting monitor for changing room lighting or it's rather marketing pitch?
Thank you!

I use it, and I like the colors my monitors produce after calibration.  It's not the best of the bunch, but it is reasonably priced.  I know a lot of shooters on the FredMiranda use it and love it.

Thanks for info Dan! and what about calibration in realtime depending on lighting conditions does it really work?

Yeah it's cheapest but still costly one, maybe someone would put used one on Ebay and I'll be able to win it. Wonder if you sold your old one already? ::)

And what tool you're using now?

I think it works Denis.  It's like any other tool though, in that its importance is overstated.

If you have to look really closely to determine whether or not you have a good image, then your image probably sucks.   ;)

Seriously though, you just need to make sure your color calibration is correct and that your brightness is reasonable.  I cannot see where anything more exact is needed for stock photography.  I do see a noticeable difference in the colors my monitors produce after Huey loads in upon reboot.  My screen background is one of my humpback whale pictures, and the water looks much better once the Huey driver kicks in.

thanks for info, Dan! I've decide that once I have some spare cash I'll order one on eBay as it seems that they are not available locally.

Wonder if anyone used PANTONE huey and PANTONE huey Pro and could tell if it's really worth to pay more for Pro version?

I have the huey pro and it has made a difference especially on the laptop that had some pretty strange colors. I look at it more as something that balances the color so it looks natural, more than some absolutely perfect color device.

I like it! Got mine on sale in Atlanta at Inkstop, when I was buying memory cards and I'm not one to pass up a "deal".  ;D

I believe the difference between the PRO and the regular is the software and the software features. Check it out?

The system asks for the sensor to be checked every week. It also can read ambient room light, and adjust for that, if you have it connected all the time. With the laptop, I just click "ignore" and haven't used the sensor in months.

It wasn't expensive and served the purpose. I like the way my monitor looks much better now.
