Title: Crestock commits suicide
Post by: EmberMike on January 25, 2013, 17:52
Not sure when this went into effect, but has anyone else noticed the latest upload process change? It used to be (for vectors, not sure if it's same for photos) upload, click "process", go to Review and Submit, done. Now after processing, you have to wait. It's not instant anymore. So essentially you need to come back later to finish the image.

I was barely hanging on with Crestock until now, and seeing this added step in uploading is enough to make me stop altogether. I'm not going to waste the time to upload, go to the site to initiate the processing step, then come back to the site later to finish the submission.

Seems like suicide to me for a company that's barely hanging on to most contributors to make the process more time-consuming.

Crestock?
Oh yeah, right, I have some pictures there.
I forgot.
Time to withdraw.

This change is not for the worse for me. Before - when I uploaded more than 3 or 4 vectors (but I usually use transparency etc. so vectors are few MB large + large previews) - "time ran out" while uploaded images were processing so I had to go back to my account and repeat process several times until processing was finally finished.

Same thing happens to me routinely when uploading to Crestock.  I don't do it often anymore because of that.

I stopped submitting to crestock when they reduced the number of keywords..

they are crazy if they thought we were going to waste time on keywords just for crestock.. industry standard is 50 keywords, if you reduce that, you are out..
