Title: NEWS - Crestock's Referrals Program Arrives
Post by: josh_crestock on April 15, 2008, 07:17
Hola Compadre!

Well, I for one am very pleased to announce the eventual arrival of the Crestock Referral Program... We have launched what we believe to be the most lucrative referral program of all microstock agencies.

Check it out for yourselves:

I'll be around on this board here to answer any questions or give any needed help.

All the best,

Josh Hodge

Very good Josh.  I'll check it out.  I already have a short list of very helpful folks I would like to say "thanks" to.   :)

well good to see they got this going :)

I agree that the buyer referral program is very generous and the best of any site.

the statistics and their layout and the plethora of links that you provide are also very nice.

the photographer referral program however, is not on par with the other sites.  Any new photographer doesn't have much of a chance to get images online and start getting sales within the first 6 months.  By the time they actually have a producing portfolio the referral time is over.

Dreamstime had 6 months referral time for photographers and they changed it to 3 years.  They give 10% as well

shutterstock gives 10% (or a little more depending on the level of the photographer) for unlimited time.  (this is the best referral program of anyone)

Fotolia gives 10% of the photographer earnings for 5 years (second best referral program)

I hope you can reconsider the length of time the photographer is counted as a referral.

Agreed. It should be at least a year to be fair.

Thanks guys, this advice won't go unheeded. I think the team behind this are pretty open about extending the length of time, depending on the results of the initial few months.

With this program we really wanted to make it more lucrative in the luring of new customers to Crestock, so we emphasized that side of it a bit more, at least in the beginning stages.

Why is that Leaf?  Is there a maximum amout of images you can upload a week, like iStock?

no but if someone is just starting out in stock, they are not going to have many images by the time 6 months is up.  Most of the people who are established in stock and have a full portfolio to upload are allready signed up with crestock - so it will be mostly new people that will be referred.

Fair call, Leaf. I will push this to get extended in the future, where it will be up for discussion.

In the meantime, I do hope it provides incentives for some of those established microstockers to take the plunge and upload their portfolios to Crestock. This will give their referrer a good chance to boost their earnings, significantly, as well.

Did someone say that Crestock has the fastest uploading system? ;)
